    Head of Solar Operation & Maintenance

    Slot: 4 Openings

    Locations: Sabon Wuse - Niger State, Kano State, Agbara - Ogun State & Lagos State

    Responsibilities

    • Managing Operation & Maintenance (O&M) teams of the cluster/Axis
    • Managing Planning, scheduling, and ensuring the execution of activities to keep the plant running smoothly, including monitoring performance and identifying potential problems.
    • Continuously monitoring the solar power plant\\\\\\\'s performance on a day-to-day basis, proactively identifying issues and developing corrective actions. 
    • Scheduling and executing preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, Breakdown and corrective maintenance to ensure the longevity of equipment and predictive maintenance to address potential issues before they become major problems.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performing environment, igniting innovation and maximizing your team’s potential.
    • Review O&M and technical service project profitability and ensure alignment with financial targets.
    • Develop and manage the annual Operations and Maintenance (O&M) budget for the cluster/axis.
    • Periodically review and implement the safety compliance as per the industry standards.

     

    Qualifications / Requirements

    o          HND/bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering 

    o          Minimum of 10 years of experience

    o          Prior experience in Solar Energy and Power Generation is vital.

    o          Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

    o          Ability to design and make PowerPoint presentations. Good use of MS Excel is important.

    o          Ideal Candidates will be resident in the location chosen or willing to relocate at their own expense.

    o          Ready to Travel within and outside the country at any time.

    Solar Site Engineers

    Locations: Sabon Wuse - Niger State, Agbara - Ogun State, Lagos State & Ogere – Ogun State

    Responsibilities

    • Regularly inspect and maintain solar panels, inverters, and other components.
    • Implement preventive, predictive and corrective / breakdown maintenance strategies to extend system lifespan and keep a record of it. 
    • Identifying the root causes of faults and implementing countermeasures to prevent recurrence.
    • Train technicians and other personnel on system maintenance procedures.
    • Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement.
    • Communicate effectively with the team and other personnel regarding system status and maintenance plans.
    • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and performance data.
    • Generate daily, weekly, monthly & yearly reports on system performance and maintenance activities for stakeholders.

     Solar Safety Engineers

    Locations: Sabon Wuse - Niger State, Kano State, Agbara - Ogun State, Lagos State & Ogere – Ogun State

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement safety procedures and guidelines for all operation and maintenance activities as per industry standards.
    • Identifying and evaluating potential hazards associated with solar energy systems, including electrical hazards, height hazards, and environmental risks.
    • Providing safety training and guiding the team regarding safe work practices and use of PPE’s at the workplace.
    • Conducting regular safety audits at the site to check on the adherence of safety protocols.
    • Daily, weekly or monthly reporting to the management regarding safety protocols, near miss incidents or any hazard
    • Root cause analysis of any safety related incident and implementation of the corrective action.

    Qualifications / Requirements

    • HND/bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
    • Proven experience as a Health and Safety Manager or similar role.
    • Professional certification in health and safety (e.g., CSP, CIH) is preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

    Solar Site Technicians

    Locations: Sabon Wuse - Niger State, Kano State, Agbara - Ogun State, Lagos State & Ogere – Ogun State

    Responsibilities

    • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues with solar systems, using test equipment and other tools to identify problems and implement solutions. 
    • Performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal system performance, including cleaning panels, checking wiring, and maintaining records of repairs. 
    • Adhering to safety procedures and regulations when working with electrical equipment and at heights.
    • Maintaining accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities. 
    • Interacting with members of the installation team, providing technical support, and communicating progress and issues to the reporting Engineer/Manager.
    • Possessing a strong understanding of solar energy systems. 
    • Demonstrating strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently. 
    • Working effectively with other technicians and team members to complete maintenance activities on time and with zero (minimum) downtime. 

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • Candidates should possess an OND / NABTEB, WAEC certificate in Technical, Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
    • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role.
    • Thorough knowledge of Solar systems.
    • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Have excellent analytical skills and critical thinking abilities.
    • Be self-motivated and able to work well independently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Have excellent organizational and time management abilities.
    • Be observant and detail-oriented.
    • Ideal Candidates will be resident in the location chosen or willing to relocate at their own expense.
