    Outlet Manager

    Reporting Relationships

    Functionally Reports To: Head of Retail Operations

    Administratively Reports To: Head of Retail Operations

    Job Objective(s)

    • Responsible for the overall management and performance of the assigned outlet, ensuring operational efficiency, brand compliance, and profitability.
    • Lead and supervise the outlet team to achieve sales targets, excellent customer service standards, and efficient inventory control.
    • Drive business growth through effective marketing, visual merchandising, customer relationship management, and staff development.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, operational standards, and financial procedures.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Store Management & Leadership

    • Oversee daily store operations, ensuring compliance with all company procedures and standards.
    • Supervise and provide leadership to the outlet team, fostering a culture of accountability, discipline, and service excellence.
    • Plan and organize workflow for maximum efficiency, aligning team performance with business objectives.
    • Conduct regular team briefings and meetings to communicate updates, targets, and expectations.
    • Monitor store performance metrics and prepare reports on sales, expenses, and productivity.
    • Support management in developing and executing outlet-specific sales strategies and marketing plans.

    Sales & Revenue Growth

    • Ensure sales targets and profit objectives are consistently met or exceeded.
    • Identify opportunities to increase sales and improve profitability through effective client engagement, upselling, and cross-selling.
    • Track and analyze sales trends, customer preferences, and inventory movements to make data-driven decisions.
    • Motivate the team to actively build and maintain strong client relationships.
    • Implement in-store activations, promotions, and events to drive brand visibility and sales.

    Customer Service Excellence

    • Promote and model Montaigne Limited’s customer service culture — greet, assist, and thank customers courteously.
    • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally, ensuring timely resolution and retention.
    • Train staff on service etiquette, brand knowledge, and product presentation to ensure superior customer experience.
    • Monitor and maintain high standards of store ambience, cleanliness, and staff grooming.
    • Ensure customer data privacy and adhere strictly to company confidentiality policies.

    Merchandising & Inventory Management

    • Ensure the outlet is properly stocked and visually merchandised in accordance with brand guidelines.
    • Manage re-order levels and coordinate product replenishment with the warehouse and procurement team.
    • Oversee product displays, seasonal arrangements, and promotional setups to optimize visual appeal.
    • Monitor stock movements, manage stock discrepancies, and ensure zero stock-out or overstock situations.
    • Conduct regular stock counts and reconciliations in collaboration with the inventory team.

    People Management & Development

    • Supervise, coach, and appraise store staff to achieve individual and collective goals.
    • Identify training needs and support HR in implementing on-the-job and refresher trainings.
    • Foster teamwork, discipline, and a culture of accountability among outlet employees.
    • Ensure adherence to company attendance, dress code, and performance standards.

    Administration & Financial Management

    • Monitor cash handling, daily sales reconciliation, and accurate documentation of transactions.
    • Ensure timely and accurate submission of daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
    • Manage petty cash and other operational expenditures within approved limits.
    • Ensure adherence to internal control processes and audit compliance.
    • Oversee facility maintenance, security, and safety standards at the outlet.

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    • Achievement of monthly/quarterly sales targets.
    • Inventory accuracy and stock reconciliation compliance.
    • Customer satisfaction and retention rates.
    • Staff productivity and performance metrics.
    • Adherence to store operating procedures and audit standards.

    Minimum Educational Qualification

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
    • A Master’s Degree or professional certification in Retail Management or Marketing is an added advantage.

    Required Experience

    • Minimum of 3–4 years of hands-on experience in a retail store management or supervisory role.
    • Prior experience in luxury retail, cosmetics, fashion, or boutique operations is highly preferred.
    • Proven experience using Point of Sale (POS) systems and other retail management tools.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate sales teams to achieve business objectives.
    • Experience in customer relationship management, visual merchandising, and inventory control.

    Required Competencies

    Knowledge:

    • In-depth knowledge of retail operations, customer service, and sales techniques.
    • Strong understanding of beauty, cosmetics, skincare, and fragrance products.
    • Familiarity with marketing and merchandising strategies in a luxury retail setting.

    • High proficiency in MS Office tools and POS systems.

    Internal Auditor

    Job Objective

    • To ensure the integrity of financial and operational systems by conducting independent and objective audits across all departments, outlets, and business processes.
    • The Internal Auditor will evaluate internal controls, assess compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements, identify risks, and recommend actionable solutions that strengthen governance and improve business efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities
    Audit Planning & Execution:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive annual internal audit plan aligned with organizational goals and risk priorities.
    • Conduct periodic financial, operational, and compliance audits across retail outlets, warehouses, and head office departments.
    • Assess the effectiveness and efficiency of internal control systems and recommend improvements.
    • Perform inventory and cash count verifications at outlets and warehouses to detect and prevent fraud, discrepancies, or wastage.
    • Ensure audit activities are carried out in accordance with International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (IPPF).

    Financial & Operational Review:

    • Review accounting and financial records to ensure accuracy, reliability, and integrity of reporting.
    • Examine sales transactions, discount approvals, and payment processes to ensure compliance with internal policies.
    • Verify that procurement, logistics, and stock management processes align with company procedures and cost-control measures.
    • Assess operational efficiency and resource utilization across outlets and business units.

    Risk Management & Compliance:

    • Identify potential areas of business risk, fraud, and process inefficiency; recommend risk-mitigation measures.
    • Monitor compliance with statutory requirements (tax, pension, regulatory filings) and internal financial policies.
    • Support the development and maintenance of a robust risk register for the organization.
    • Review adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and recommend process enhancements.

    Reporting & Documentation:

    • Prepare comprehensive and well-structured audit reports detailing findings, risk ratings, and practical recommendations.
    • Present audit outcomes to senior management and follow up on agreed corrective action plans.
    • Maintain accurate and organized records of all audit activities for reference and compliance review.
    • Provide periodic reports to management and the Board Audit Committee where applicable.

    Continuous Improvement & Advisory:

    • Advise management on internal control best practices and financial governance.
    • Collaborate with finance, retail, HR, and operations departments to develop effective control systems.
    • Promote ethical practices and a culture of accountability across all business functions.
    • Conduct special investigations and ad-hoc audits as directed by management.

    Minimum Educational Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
    • A Chartered Accountant (ICAN, ACCA) qualification is mandatory.
    • Membership with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) or related professional body is an added advantage.

    Required Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in Internal Audit, Finance, or Risk Management.
    • Previous experience in luxury retail, FMCG, or multibrand distribution environment is required.
    • Demonstrated track record of conducting operational, financial, and compliance audits across multiple business units.
    • Proven experience in identifying control gaps and implementing process improvements.

    Required Competencies
    Knowledge:

    • Sound understanding of accounting principles, auditing standards, and internal control frameworks.
    • Knowledge of retail operations, including POS systems, inventory flow, and stock reconciliation.
    • Familiarity with risk-based auditing and enterprise risk management frameworks.
    • Knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, financial reporting standards (IFRS), and regulatory compliance requirements.

    Skills:

    • Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, accounting systems, and ERP tools.
    • Effective report writing and presentation skills.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
