    Academic Writer

    Purpose of Position:      

    The Academic Writer at LBS Management Hub will play a critical role in reviewing and developing high-quality case studies, industry reports, and other academic resources, ensuring alignment with the Hub’s guidelines. As a key contributor on the content team, the Academic Writer will dive deep into industry research, analyze trends, and distill complex information into compelling narratives that resonate with the Hub’s audience. This role involves collaborating closely with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and external contributors to gather insights and ensure accuracy and relevance in our publications. The Academic Writer will also stay abreast of industry developments, emerging trends, and best practices to inform their writing and maintain the highest standards of quality and credibility.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES/KEY JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to the following:

    • Copy-edit contributions made to the Hub
    • Develop Industry reports and Sectorial Analysis papers.
    • Conduct thorough research to gather data and insights for content development of Industry
    • Reports and Sectorial Analysis papers.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and relevance.
    • Ensure that all authored content meets these standards and contributes to the overarching

    KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

    • Achieve a rating of 90% or above in user feedback surveys on the quality and relevance of authored content.
    • Ensure that 95% of authored content meets established standards and guidelines.
    • Maintain positive collaborative relationships with the Chief Editor, as indicated by regular feedback.
    • Contribute to the timely delivery of content, meeting at least 90% of project deadlines.
    • Make significant contributions to research and analysis, providing valuable insights for content development.

    COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

    • Must exhibit a professional demeanor and possess the ability to lead and initiate complex academic projects effectively.
    • Must be experienced in using data tools like Excel, SPSS.
    • Evidence of scholastic writing.
    • Must have a keen eye for detail, striving for efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and quality in academic writing.
    • Possess a passion for creativity and innovation in academic content creation, bringing fresh perspectives and insights to topics.
    • Able to establish and nurture productive working relationships with academic colleagues, collaborators, and stakeholders to foster collaborative research efforts.
    • Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting academic data, applying critical thinking skills to extract meaningful insights and support research findings.
    • Proficiency in writing tools
    • Knowledge of research methodologies.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills

    QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Good first and second degree in Management or Social Science from a reputable tertiary institution.

    EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum of 5 years experience on a similar role

    Central Store Administrator

    Purpose of Position: 

    The Stores Administrator will be responsible for the efficient management of all the stores in the school, including those attached to various departments that receive inventory direct from vendors. His/her role involves overseeing inventory control, receipt, issuance, and maintenance of optimal stock levels to support the smooth operations of the school.

    KEY JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to the following:

    • Develop and implement effective inventory management procedures for central stores.
    • Regularly conduct physical stock counts to reconcile with electronic inventory records.
    • Categorize and organize inventory items for easy retrieval and monitoring.
    • Collaborate with department heads to understand inventory needs and assist Procurement
    • Specialist in demand forecast.
    • Coordinate the receipt and issuance of inventory items, ensuring timely and cost-effective replenishment.
    • Establish product/service quality performance of suppliers/contractors for evaluations.
    • Monitor stock consumption patterns to optimize re-order level strategies.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all stock/inventory transactions.
    • Generate regular reports on stock levels, consumption, and reorder points.
    • Ensure compliance with documentation standards for audits and reporting.
    • Plan and conduct monthly stock take.
    • Supervise and lead the stores team, providing guidance and support.
    • Conduct training sessions for storekeepers on proper inventory management practices.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
    • Implement security measures to safeguard inventory from theft, damage, or unauthorized access.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations in the handling and storage of goods.
    • Conduct regular safety drills and training for storekeepers.

    COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

    To be successful on this role the candidate should possess the following.

    • Inventory Management skills to maintain accurate records of inventory levels, track stock
    • movements, conduct regular audits, and optimize inventory levels to meet organizational needs
    • while minimizing costs.
    • Good managerial and organizational skills
    • Attention to details. Being meticulous in recording inventory data, etc.
    • Effective Communication Skills.
    • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with inventory management software
    • Analytical Skills: The ability to analyze data related to inventory levels.
    • Proficient in Inventory Management Software and Microsoft Office Suite
    • Time Management.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in inventory management, procurement, and central stores operations
    • Leadership experience and the ability to motivate and manage a team.

    PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION:

    • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
    • Warehouse Management Certification (WMC)

    EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience working in a similar role.

    Journalist

    Purpose of Position:

    At LBS Management Hub, the Journalist will play a pivotal role in researching, writing, and producing content relevant to industries across Africa. This includes
    crafting monthly newsletters spotlighting significant industry trends, success stories, and pertinent business news. Additionally, the Journalist will create insightful business articles addressing critical gaps within the African business landscape.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES/KEY JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    include but not limited to the following:

    • Conduct in-depth research on industry trends, events, and success stories.
    • Develop informative and engaging journalistic content.
    • Availability to get data from open market when necessary
    • Conduct interviews with industry experts, professionals, and thought leaders.
    • Craft compelling business articles that align with the organization’s objectives.
    • Collaborate with Academic Writers to copy-edit contributions to the Hub.
    • Optimize content for online platforms, ensuring it is visually appealing and engaging.

    COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

    • Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and engaging content suitable for various mediums, including newsletters, articles, and reports.
    • Ability to write with relevant keywords to rank well on search engines, including Google and Microsoft Bing.
    • Ability to conduct thorough research to gather accurate information and insights on industry
    • trends, success stories, and business news across Africa.
    • Adherence to ethical standards and principles of journalism, including accuracy, fairness, and objectivity in reporting and storytelling.
    • Flexibility to work on diverse topics and adjust the writing style to suit different audiences and publication formats.

    Cost Controller

    Purpose of Position:

    The position of Food & Beverage cost controller plays a crucial role in the hospitality and food service industry, serving several key purposes aimed at ensuring cost control, waste elimination and overall financial efficiency.

    KEY JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    include but not limited to the following:

    • Verify the Market list initiated by the Chef and spot check purchase items quantity as per PO.
    • Regular meeting with Chef and F & B Manager to achieve better planning and control of food and beverage costing.
    • Prepare daily food and beverage cost reports.
    • Monitor daily staff cafeteria costing.
    • Prepare monthly food and beverages cost compilation reports.
    • Keep records and monitor all inter kitchen transfer.
    • Periodically inspection on the receiving dock to ensure the quality of goods received are satisfactory.
    • Conduct monthly sock inventory count and half yearly operating Equipment count.

    SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact at all levels in the organization.
    • Financial management skills.
    • Self-motivated with a zeal for continuous professional improvement.
    • Results-focused, a self-starter, energetic and able to work with minimum supervision.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelors’ degree in a relevant field such as Accounting, Finance, Hospitality Management.
    • Professional Qualification: Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive. Or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)

    • Minimum of  2-3 years’ experience working in a similar role.
