    Academic Writer

    Purpose of Position:      

    The Academic Writer at LBS Management Hub will play a critical role in reviewing and developing high-quality case studies, industry reports, and other academic resources, ensuring alignment with the Hub’s guidelines. As a key contributor on the content team, the Academic Writer will dive deep into industry research, analyze trends, and distill complex information into compelling narratives that resonate with the Hub’s audience. This role involves collaborating closely with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and external contributors to gather insights and ensure accuracy and relevance in our publications. The Academic Writer will also stay abreast of industry developments, emerging trends, and best practices to inform their writing and maintain the highest standards of quality and credibility.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES/KEY JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to the following:

    • Copy-edit contributions made to the Hub
    • Develop Industry reports and Sectorial Analysis papers.
    • Conduct thorough research to gather data and insights for content development of Industry
    • Reports and Sectorial Analysis papers.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and relevance.
    • Ensure that all authored content meets these standards and contributes to the overarching

    KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

    • Achieve a rating of 90% or above in user feedback surveys on the quality and relevance of authored content.
    • Ensure that 95% of authored content meets established standards and guidelines.
    • Maintain positive collaborative relationships with the Chief Editor, as indicated by regular feedback.
    • Contribute to the timely delivery of content, meeting at least 90% of project deadlines.
    • Make significant contributions to research and analysis, providing valuable insights for content development.

    COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

    • Must exhibit a professional demeanor and possess the ability to lead and initiate complex academic projects effectively.
    • Must be experienced in using data tools like Excel, SPSS.
    • Evidence of scholastic writing.
    • Must have a keen eye for detail, striving for efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and quality in academic writing.
    • Possess a passion for creativity and innovation in academic content creation, bringing fresh perspectives and insights to topics.
    • Able to establish and nurture productive working relationships with academic colleagues, collaborators, and stakeholders to foster collaborative research efforts.
    • Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting academic data, applying critical thinking skills to extract meaningful insights and support research findings.
    • Proficiency in writing tools
    • Knowledge of research methodologies.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills

    QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Good first and second degree in Management or Social Science from a reputable tertiary institution.

    EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum of 5 years experience on a similar role
