    Data Analyst

    Responsibilities

    Analyze qualitative data for the Misoprostol Assessment Study. Working closely with the field supervisors and the data manager, you are to

    • Participate in the data collection training for data collectors in Abuja.
    • Participate in virtual orientation on data analysis framework, group coding sessions
    • Collating codebook, generate themes and subthemes in line with the study objectives
    • Analyze qualitative data (coding and memo writing)
    • Participate in post-data analysis meeting
    • Provide summary memo reports

    Deliverables
    Your Specific Deliverables Are

    • Codebook
    • Coded data in Dedoose
    • Summary memo reports
    • Report detailing work done
    • Power Point presentation of analytical outputs

    Required Qualifications

    • MSc in Sociology, MPH, Medical or Health Sciences Research is required.
    • Prior experience in political economy analysis, framework analyses, or similar research projects is an advantage.
    • 6 – 10 years’ Experience in qualitative research methods, particularly with proficiency in the use of Dedoose (or similar qualitative data analysis software).
    • Maternal health programs or related experience
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are critical.
    • Good spoken and written English
    • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines at short notice.
    • Excellent report writing skills

    Research Assistant (Sokoto, Niger, Akwa Ibom and FCT)

    • The Research Assistants will facilitate key informant interviews in Niger, Sokoto, Abuja and Akwa Ibom states, including consent, transcription of recording, and detailed notes during the interviews.

    Responsibilities

    Collect quality and reliable data for the Misoprostol Assessment Study. Working closely with the field supervisors and the data manager, you are to

    • Participate in the data collection training for data collectors in Abuja.
    • Participate in field testing the data collection tools in selected locations.
    • Screen, recruit and consent study participants in accordance to the study SOP or research protocol.
    • Conduct key informant interviews using all provided study tools deployed for the study
    • Transcribe recordings
    • Notify the study team on any Severe Adverse Event, protocol deviation or any other ethical issues during the data collection process.
    • Ensure data security and keep custody of the recording devices
    • Submit activity report as may be required

    Deliverables

    Your specific deliverables are:

    • Daily activity report detailing work done on a centralized platform
    • Transcripts for interviews conducted.
    • Report detailing work done

    Required Qualifications

    • A degree in Sociology, Public Health, Medical or Health Sciences Research is required.
    • Prior experience leading or supporting similar research projects is an advantage.
    • At least 2 years’ experience in qualitative research methods and stakeholder level engagement is desirable.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are critical.
    • Good spoken and written English as well as local languages of the preferred state (Sokoto, Niger, FCT and Akwa Ibom).
    • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines at short notice.
    • Excellent transcription (verbatim), note-taking and report writing skills
    • Good computer skills

    Round Table Facilitators (Sokoto, Niger, Akwa Ibom and FCT)

    • The roundtable facilitator will participate in virtual orientation, send reminders to participants and facilitate roundtable discussion, working in synergy with the transcriber/note taker in the state of assignment i.e. Niger, Sokoto, Abuja and Akwa Ibom.

    Responsibilities

    Reminder to Participants and facilitation of roundtable discussion. Working closely with the field supervisors and the data manager, you are to

    • Participate in virtual orientation of round table facilitators and note takers.
    • Make reminder calls/SMS to participants as part of final preparation for the round table.
    • Recruit and consent participants in accordance with the study SOP or research protocol.
    • Build trust and rapport with the study participants
    • Facilitate round table discussion
    • Supervise the transcription process and ensure submitted transcript is verbatim.
    • Notify the study team on any Severe Adverse Event, protocol deviation or any other ethical issues during the data collection process.
    • Ensure data security, storage/management and maintain confidentiality
    • Submit activity report as may be required

    Deliverables

    Your specific deliverables are:

    • Audio recording
    • Report detailing work done
    • Notes from round table discussion

    Required Qualifications

    • Degree in Sociology, Public Health, Medical or Health Sciences Research or Mass Communication is required.
    • 6 – 10 years prior experience supporting similar research projects is an advantage.
    • Strong experience in engaging with high level decision makers such as Honorable Ministers, Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries etc.
    • Experience in qualitative research methods.
    • Excellent communication,  interpersonal skills and strong facilitation skills are critical.
    • Good spoken and written English as well as local languages of the preferred state (FCT, Niger, Sokoto, Akwa Ibom).
    • Good computer skills
