    Quantity Surveyor

    Job Type: Contract

    Job Description

    • We are searching for a reliable Quantity Surveyor to join our capable team of professionals. The Quantity Surveyor will be tasked with analysing existing budgets and making improvements, reviewing plans, and preparing quantity estimates, negotiating with various contractors and vendors, as well as building relationships with clients and site managers.
    • To be successful as a Quantity Surveyor, you should have a methodical approach and superb interpersonal skills. Outstanding Quantity Surveyors are not only great at analysing costs, but they also know how to read people and tailor their negotiation strategies to ensure the best possible outcome.

    Responsibilities

    • Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
    • Scrutinising maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.
    • Liaising with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
    • Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents.
    • Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
    • Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required.
    • Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.
    • Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
    • Travelling from the office to various sites as required.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Management or similar.
    • Minimum of 6 years experience in quantity survey with at least 4 yearsТ experience in property development
    • Construction estimating or finance experienced is required.
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
    • Sound knowledge of construction and property development.
    • Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to organise, plan, and strategize.
    • Excellent reporting skills. Both written and verbal.
    • Great networking abilities.

    Project Manager

    Job Code: PM1
    Contract Duration: One Year (with option for renewal)

    Job Description

    • The Project Manager manages key client projects. Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope
    • Oversee all aspects of projects. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarise progress of project. Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project.
    • The successful candidate will work directly with clients to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget
    • He or she will coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible and will hire new talent as needed to fulfil client needs.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate internal resources and third parties / vendors for the flawless execution of projects
    • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
    • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
    • Ensure resource availability and allocation
    • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
    • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
    • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
    • Report and escalate to management as needed
    • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
    • Perform risk management to minimise project risks
    • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
    • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
    • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
    • Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members' individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels
    • Track project performance, specifically to analyse the successful completion of short and long-term goals
    • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
    • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members
    • Use and continually develop leadership skills
    • Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency
    • Perform other related duties as assigned
    • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
    • Minimum of 7 years experience in project management with at least 4 years experience in property development
    • Proven ability to develop and track budgets as well as properly manage different stages of a project. On-time delivery, within scope and within budget
    • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
    • Proven ability coordinates internal resources and third parties / vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
