    Family Physician

    Location: Ughelli, Delta

    Job Description

    • The job holder will be responsible for providing comprehensive, continuous, and patient-centred primary healthcare to individuals and families across all age groups, including preventive care, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic conditions.

    Responsibilities

    • Conducting comprehensive patient assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning
    • Providing preventive care, health screening, and immunisation services
    • Managing chronic disease conditions and coordinating long-term care
    • Providing antenatal, postnatal, and child health services where required
    • Referring patients to specialists and coordinating multidisciplinary care
    • Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation and patient records
    • Collaborating with nursing staff, specialists, and other departments to ensure continuity of care
    • Participating in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education
    • Providing health education and counselling to patients and families

    Qualifications

    • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree
    • MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognised institution
    • Valid registration and practising licence with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN)
    • Minimum of 2 - 4 years post-qualification experience in family medicine or general practice (postgraduate qualification in Family Medicine, e.g. FMCFM/FWACP, an advantage)
    • Sound knowledge of primary healthcare protocols and evidence-based clinical guidelines
    • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office package
    • Outstanding communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and people management skills
    • Knowledge of patient safety, infection control, and clinical risk management practices
    • Knowledge of relevant health legislation and regulatory requirements.

    Nurse Anesthetist

    Description

    • The job holder will also be responsible for providing high-quality clinical assistance to the Anesthetist during and after surgical procedures by conducting patient assessment, evaluating and preparing them for surgical procedures.

    Responsibilities

    • Pre-anesthetic preparation and patient assessment
    • Administering anesthesia and providing intraoperative care
    • Evaluating patient responses and taking corrective actions
    • Providing patient education and support
    • Collaborating with surgical teams and department staff
    • Maintaining equipment and supplies
    • Leading quality improvement initiatives

    Qualifications

    • Minimum academic qualification of a Basic Diploma in Anaesthetic Nursing (CRNA)
    • Minimum 1 year relevant work experience in the health sector.
    • Registration with the National Association of Nurses and Midwifery of Nigeria, and must be licensed to practice as an Anesthetist nurse.
    • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office package.
    • Outstanding communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and people management skills.
    • Knowledge of safety and injection control practices.
    • Knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act.
    • Candidate must be a resident of Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
