    Expatriate or Local Ship Captain

    Job Summary

    • Our client urgently desire services of an Expatriate or local Ship Captain who has a minimum of BSc and a master’s degree in any relevant field.
    • The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 8 years’ experience. A previous experience in the same role in the Marine Industry will be required.. The ideal candidate must be resident within Delta State

    Responsibilities
    The job responsibilities for this role are:

    • A captain's duties and responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, from ensuring the safety and security of the vessel and its occupants to managing the crew and maintaining the ship's seaworthiness.
    • They are ultimately responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel, including navigation, crew management, cargo operations, and legal compliance.

    Key Responsibilities
    Navigation and Steering:

    • The captain is responsible for navigating the vessel, plotting courses, and making decisions about route adjustments based on weather, traffic, and other factors.

    Crew Management;

    • Captains supervise and manage the crew, assigning duties, ensuring proper training, and maintaining discipline.

    Safety and Security:

    • The captain's top priority is the safety and well-being of all on board, including passengers and crew. They ensure the vessel is seaworthy, equipped with necessary safety equipment, and follows all relevant regulations.

    Vessel Maintenance:

    • Captains are involved in maintaining the vessel's seaworthiness, including overseeing maintenance tasks, ensuring equipment is in good working order, and addressing any issues that may arise.

    Cargo Operations:

    • Captains are responsible for the safe and efficient loading, unloading, and handling of cargo.

    Legal Compliance:

    • Captains must ensure the vessel and crew comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.

    Chief Engineer (Classroom Instructor)

    Job Summary

    • We're seeking an experienced Expatriate or local Chief Engineer with a strong classroom teaching background to lead our engineering department and deliver high-quality training to students.
    • The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of marine engineering principles and be able to effectively convey complex concepts to students.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and manage the engineering department
    • Develop and deliver classroom training and assessments for maritime students
    • Create and update course materials to meet STCW and regulatory requirements

    Requirements

    Nautical Instructor

    Job Summary

    • We seek a highly experienced Expatriates or local Nautical Instructor, preferably a retired Master with a Certificate of Competency (CoC), to join our maritime training institute.
    • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in classroom training and be able to deliver high-quality instruction to students.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Deliver classroom training and assessments for maritime students
    • Develop and update course materials to meet STCW and regulatory requirements

    Registrar

    Description

    • Our client is a key player in the Marine Industry and currently located at Warri in Delta State. Due to increasing activities, our client urgently desire services of a Registrar who has a minimum of HND or BSc and a master’s degree in any relevant field.
    • The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 8 years’ experience. A previous experience in the same role in the Marine Industry will be an advantage.
    • The ideal candidate must be resident within Delta State.

    The job responsibilities for this role are

    • Update, maintain, retrieve data and verify the accuracy of records maintained in current student information system and related technical programs, preparation and submission of enrollment data reports to external agencies, as needed.
    • Create other reports as needed.
    • Understand and enforce requirements and protect the confidentiality of student records and communications.
    • Enforce institutional and academic policies as well as internal office policies, as needed.
    • Understand and analyze academic plans and requirements for all majors and minors and convey this information, as needed, to students, faculty, and advisors.
    • Assist students, advisors and faculty with matters concerning course registration.
    • Ensure the organization and management of data related to anticipated graduates
    • The Registrar serve as a “trusted agent” to the National Maritime Center and NBTE to discuss matters relating to cadets, Diploma progress,
    • Perform student enrollment verifications.
    • Process requests for transcripts and Certificates verifications.
    • Updates to Academic Catalog.
    • Supervises student and/or Academy employees.
    • Other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Interested candidates should possess an HND / Bachelor's Degree with 8 - 10 years experience.

    • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, adjustments, and accruals.
    • Prepare and process invoices, payments, expense reports, and other financial transactions.

    • Monitor and track financial transactions, expenses, and budgets to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
    • Provide support and assistance to auditors, tax professionals, and regulatory agencies during audits and examinations.

    • Prepare annual budget and monitor budget performance
