    Engineer, Transmission Core Planning - Network NG

    Job Description

    • To plan, optimize and manage MTNN’s core transmission capacity and services (especially in the Metro & Switch) to ensure achievement of MTNN’s network rollout objectives as per the annual and strategic business plan.
    • Plan and design core transmission network capacity for mobile traffic and Enterprise services  
    • Plan and design network protection on critical transmission links
    • Ensure adequacy of redundancy of critical transmission network elements
    • Monitor capacity utilization and proactively release expansion plans for links approaching set threshold
    • Provide detailed network diagram depicting the status of the core transmission network
    • Plan packet synchronization, DCN and QoS mapping for MTN Converged Transport Network
    • Support in the expansion of network capacity ensuring it takes place on schedule and as planned
    • Ensure optimal capacity utilization and transmission asset optimization

    Educational Qualification

    • A First Degree / HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
    • Fluent in English

    Experience:

    • 3 - 7 years of experience especially in Telecoms industry
    • Excellent knowledge of network transmission capacity planning, optimization and expansion for mobile and enterprise services backhaul using various multivendor network management systems such as Huawei/NCE-IP & Transport, Nokia/NFM-Packet & Transport, ZTE/Net-Nueman).
    • Experience in routing/switching technologies and services planning based on the following protocols: IS-IS, OSPF, BGP, SR, Layer2/Layer3 VPNs etc.
    • Good knowledge of Transport technologies (MPLS, Carrier Ethernet, OTN, and DWDM), link protection schemes (LAG, MSTP, APS, SNCP, ERP) and network synchronization planning.
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office tools (word, excel, project and power-point) for data analysis, reporting and presentation purposes.

    Engineer, IP Access Planning - Network NG

    Job Identification: 1322

    Description

    • Plan and design nodes, sites and links within the national IP/MPLS Edge & Core Networks and ensure ongoing development to cater for new developments in the organization’s business plan.
    • Produce network convergence hierarchy, topology, architecture and infrastructure redundancy plan for VPN service integration, regional Service provider edge aggregation and IP Core Transport via the multi-service backbone.
    • Interface with Transmission Specialists and Topology for planning of optic (DWDM) backbone connectivity, capacity planning and allocation for efficient transport of all internal and external customer data traffic.
    • Plan, design and optimize routing & transport technologies for Provider Edge aggregation and Core transport network integration and verify requests, justify needs and classify all requested networks and services for MPLS VPN integration.
    • Plan, deploy and evolve Quality and Class of Service techniques at the network Edge and in the MPLS core network.
    • Plan all IP backbone integration events, issue work orders and control project processes for capacity expansion, node integration and/or new service introduction.
    • Conduct weekly & monthly network performance monitoring, trend analyses, capacity planning and expansion in line with network growth trends and increases in traffic.
    • Develop and evolve IP addressing, naming and numbering formats for all network nodes and elements in the IP/MPLS backbone.
    • Produce and evolve designs for integration and extension of IP/MPLS edge functionality to the Campus LAN Core at all IP Backbone locations.
    • Plan, schedule and conduct site visits and surveys for accurate and effective network design, dimensioning and integration planning.

    Educational Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
    • Fluent in English

    Experience:

    • 3 - 7 years of experience
    • Experience in IT & Telecoms preferably on a large Service Provider network.
    • Cisco qualification – CCNP/DP,CCIP level with extensive systems integration and network design experience.
    • Understanding of high capacity Packet & TDM transmission technologies & products, e.g. SDH, DWDM.
    • Working knowledge of IP/MPLS, QOS standards & Networking protocols such as X25, TCP/IP, Frame Relay, ATM, MPLS and ATOM.
    • Voice Networking Telecom standards ETSI/ANSI, VOIP, C7 (SS7).
    • Knowledge of advanced IP routing protocols (BGP, IS-IS, etc.).

    Representative, Sales and Trade Development - Sales and Distribution

    Job Identification: 1979

    Mission

    • To manage and develop trade infrastructure and the channels of distribution especially retailers to ensure MTN dominance at retail in the assigned territory.

    Description

    • Confirm  that  sub dealers and dealer branches are contacted and stock receipt/movement verified.
    • Provide informal training in shops on products, services and promotions being run by marketing, channel or region and on-the-spot training/coaching of all visited outlets in territory (100% of all visited outlets in call cycle)
    • Manage events and promos, generate sub-dealer promo specifications and perform post-promo evaluation
    • Provide weekly/monthly sales activity report and market intelligence report to field service engineers
    • Monitor and report back on network quality and other sales impacting indices in territory covered
    • Ensure call cycle time of 8 - 10 visits a day per territory or as business requires
    • Identify, classify and support all players in channels of distribution and ensure  weekly/monthly database update
    • Ensure MTN product availability in channel is >95% at all times and provide weekly product availability report of all visited outlets during call cycles
    • Direct all channel participants to MTN identified growth area within your territory
    • Establish consistent channel standards including branding as per channel recommendation.
    • Increase brand awareness – Signage, POS distribution and target 65% visibility in the channel of distribution (Trade marketing team will measure)
    • Support all identified outlets with 100% merchandizing as appropriate and defined.
    • Build relationship between lower and upper levels (i.e. authorized distributors and sub dealers), support trade partners and Sub dealers and link subs, retailers etc. to Trade Partners and help nurture the relationship
    • Resolve all issues/queries with regards to activations, products and promotions

    Educational Qualifications

    • First Degree preferably in Social Sciences
    • Fluent in English

    Experience:

    • 1 - 3 years’ experience
    • Experience working in a medium-sized organization
    • Sales & Marketing experience in a Fast Moving Consumer Goods environment
