Credit officer at Goodbye to Poverty Initiative

Location: Iwo Road & Egbeda, Ibadan, Oyo State  

We are currently hiring Credit Officers / Field Workers to join our team in Iwo Road and Egbeda, Ibadan.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, mobilizing, appraising, and managing clients within assigned communities. You will work directly in the field to grow our loan portfolio while maintaining quality service and low default rates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Mobilization: Identify and recruit new clients for group and individual loans in Iwo Road and Egbeda markets/communities
• Loan Appraisal & Disbursement: Visit clients’ businesses, assess loan applications, and ensure proper documentation
• Loan Recovery: Ensure timely collection of loan repayments and manage portfolio at risk
• Customer Service: Educate clients on loan products, repayment terms, and financial discipline
• Field Reporting: Submit daily reports on visits, collections, and new leads to the Branch Manager
• Business Growth: Achieve monthly targets for disbursement, recovery, and client retention

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Minimum of SSCE. OND. B.Sc 
• Experience: 6 months experience. Fresh graduates are welcome. Previous experience in MFI, banking, or sales is an advantage

Skills:

• Good communication and marketing skills
• Must be comfortable with field work and door-to-door marketing
• Basic numeracy and record-keeping skills
• Honest, disciplined, and target-driven

Other Requirements:

• Must reside in or around Iwo Road or Egbeda, Ibadan
• Must own an Android smartphone
• Must have good knowledge of Ibadan markets and communities
•  Ability to meet targets under pressure
