Marketing & Customer Acquisition Officer at Freightech Connect Limited

FreighTech Connect Limited is looking for a Marketing & Customer Acquisition Officer to join our Ibadan branch.

The main purpose of this role is to increase the number of customers sending goods from Ibadan and surrounding areas to the United Kingdom.

The successful candidate will be commercially driven, confident in approaching potential customers, and capable of using both social media and direct marketing to generate regular cargo bookings.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Actively identify and attract new customers sending goods from Nigeria to the UK.
• Promote FreighTech Connect's UK cargo shipping services across Ibadan.
• Visit and build relationships with potential customers, traders, businesses, students, families and other relevant customer groups.
• Generate leads through social media, WhatsApp, referrals, networking and direct marketing.
• Create and distribute engaging adverts for the company's cargo services.
• Manage and grow the branch's social media presence.
• Respond to customer enquiries and convert enquiries into confirmed shipments.
• Follow up with previous customers to encourage repeat shipments.
• Develop referral opportunities and partnerships with local businesses and community groups.
• Monitor competitors and identify opportunities to increase our customer base.
• Maintain accurate records of leads, enquiries, customers and bookings.
• Provide weekly marketing and customer acquisition reports to management.
• Work closely with the operations team to ensure customers receive accurate information about collection, packing, shipping and delivery.
• Person Specification: We are looking for someone who is
• Confident, outgoing and comfortable approaching new customers. Results-driven and motivated by achieving sales targets.
• Experienced in sales, marketing, customer acquisition or business development.
• Able to use Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp and other social media platforms effectively for advertising.
• Able to create simple but professional marketing content, including flyers, videos and social media posts.
• Good at communicating with customers and building relationships.
• Able to work independently and take initiative.
• Organised and able to maintain accurate customer records.
• Comfortable using smartphones, computers and basic digital tools.
• Previous experience in cargo, logistics, freight forwarding, shipping or travel-related businesses will be an advantage.
• What We Expect: This is a customer acquisition-focused role. The successful candidate will not simply be responsible for posting adverts online. They will be expected to actively find customers, generate enquiries, follow up leads and convert them into paying cargo customers.
