    Communications Associate

    The position:

    • Customer engagement is key to driving impact and you will work closely with end-users, designers, clinical and care teams and developers to create messaging that is meaningful to our internal and external customers. You will leverage multiple social channels to reach our various audiences to communicate our messaging and will be responsible for analyzing the effectiveness of the messaging and the channels.
    • You will be expected to gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth. You will also be expected to create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners.
    • You will develop and evaluate promotional plans for product launches to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed, using user-centred design principles. Given we have several external events, you will work closely with the team and participate in these events to capture the work, understand our different audience segments and optimize our messaging.
    • We are looking only for people who are willing to work in a startup environment, (which sometimes means you'll have work round the clock, be agile and efficient) are receptive and willing to adapt to rapid change and are not afraid to have a voice. This position can be remote.

    Responsibilities

    • Work closely with mDoc leadership to create and execute on communications plans and policies, including publications, presentations, social media and outreach campaigns, newsletters, blogs, emails and editorial calendar.
    • Expand and manage mDoc's digital media presence (IG/Twitter/FB etc)
    • Work closely with team members to co-create reports and digital content (infographics, videos, photo messaging, blogs, SMS and digital chat) to engage audience segments and drive measurable actions
    • Test impact of different strategies on member engagement and experience
    • Support organization of virtual events - webinars, google hangouts, tweet-a-thons etc.
    • Manage mDoc's segmented contact lists
    • Cultivate relationships with key media outlets for instance bloggers and newspapers to expand reach
    • Other initiatives as assigned.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in communications, public affairs, journalism, literature and/or marketing
    • Experience and understanding of health and healthcare.
    • Demonstrated experience of report writing, grant writing and designing communications campaigns.
    • Great writing and editing skills and storytelling. Graphic design skills and social media analytics tools would be a plus.
    • Experience in using web/CRM software, social media platforms and management tools.
    • Ability to develop and deliver social briefs on short timelines and manage priorities.
    • Comfort in working with a global team.
    • A willingness to work super hard and problem-solve as a collective.
    • Fluent in English

    Human Resources Senior Associate

    Responsibilities

    Budget and Finance

    • Work with product/project teams on budgeting for hubs, offices, digital services and activities including the coordination of finances with staff, consultants, and vendors.
    • Oversee the negotiation of billing rates and budgets.
    • Oversee administrative responsibilities pertinent to scheduling and daily employee needs
    • Serve as interim mDoc’s compliance officer, ensuring both financial and operational plans follow best practice.

    People and General Operations:

    • Analyze data or trends for the purposes of planning, forecasting, advising, budgeting, reporting, or business opportunities
    • Lead, manage, and execute organization design efforts and help to create and execute a talent management strategy across business lines and help to lead change management projects
    • Ensure the organizational structure for the business is deployed efficiently and effectively to optimize the startup organization
    • Oversee execution of office and hub renovation
    • Identify the critical roles and develop meaningful and diverse succession plans
    • Identify opportunities to architect effective and dynamic organizational designs and development interventions, promoting efficiency and team engagement.
    • Develop recommendations for organizational design and effectiveness to support scale
    • Work with supervisor and leadership to set up the office and hubs and ensure a standard operating procedure of high quality and person-centred focus
    • Proactively support and help to drive the startup operational structures required so that mDoc is functioning optimally from a regulatory and financial perspective.
    • Actively analyze business analytics to advise organizational priorities and decision-making pertaining to staffing, business development, and revenue growth
    • Oversee development of strategic expansion of core operational functions including service provider selection e.g. office/hub wifi, cleaning and negotiation
    • Leverage inhouse tools to facilitate KPI and performance management process amongst team
    • Oversee the process staff and consultant expenses in line with the office policies
    • Facilitate weekly staff meetings (and work with operations associate) on other meetings as needed for hub and digital. Leverage Jira for meeting notes, owner assignment and timelines.
    • Oversee refinement and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and guidelines. These will include topics such as health and safety, data protection, and security, onboarding, and Help to research and develop these where nonexistent
    • Work to ensure that that the program staff and consultants adhere to these policies, procedures and guidelines and surface any challenges or barriers
    • Help to develop recognition and rewards for staff

    Oversee new hire on-boarding

    • Support the cultivation of the culture of lean and continuous improvement within the team, engaging them to be an active part of the company’s evolution
    • General activities as required by the management team
    • Additional job functions and general activities as required by the management team[1]

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in operations, HR, management, business ,etc required
    • Masters degree preferred
    • Over 7 years of experience in an HR or operations role
    • Experience with technology tools for HR, Operations or Project Management
    • A problem-solving way of thinking. We are looking for you to come with an ability to solve problems.
    • Experience and understanding of health and healthcare
    • Demonstrated experience in a similar role for a minimum of five years
    • Exceptional communication, presentation and organizational skills.
    • Experience in using technology platforms for project planning.
    • Comfort in working with a global team and in a startup environment.

    Health Coach

    The position:

    • In this position, you will be a part of the team cohort providing direct (virtual and in-person) self-management support services to members, who face challenges with chronic health needs such as diabetes and hypertension via our innovative self-management model. Your work will frequently be hub and field-based, extending out in the surrounding neighborhood and community but there will also be a primarily virtual component as well. You will be expected to follow evidence-based guidelines for care while contextualizing to the needs of the members. The Health Coach will be responsible for members/ individuals and will work in collaboration with other members of a virtual team to help them meet their wellness and health needs. You will be expected to respond to them asynchronously for the most part as well as setting up brief one on one synchronous chats. The health coaches work with individuals and encourages them to take a lead role in their wellness by providing them with tools and support to make the right kinds of lifestyle modifications. Along with the mDoc leadership team, you will cultivate an environment reflecting the values of mDoc Healthcare, including respect for our members and team members. Providing optimal member-centred care and experience is of critical importance to mDoc so we are looking for people who embody this in mind and action. You must be data-driven or willing to be data-driven such that you are looking constantly at your member needs, responding to them and also looking at population level data and coming up with ideas on how to drive continued engagement and adherence. We are looking for risk-takers with a LOT of initiative who are willing to learn and grow with and add value to a startup company that wants to help people improve their health and wellness. You must be someone who is comfortable with technology, working remotely and supporting your groups of individuals remotely as well as in person. You must be responsive to their needs and willing to be adaptive.

    The Health Coach will:

    • Provide support, lifestyle education and guidance to participants virtually and in-person and addressing their queries as well as motivating them.
    • Work with the operations and clinical team to understand population level data and make adjustments to the evidence-based curriculum.
    • Community engagement and mobilization through a multitude of methods
    • Work with community-based partners on shared initiatives
    • Research and compile needed clinical resources.
    • Support marketing and sales initiatives as subject matter expert.
    • Review data constantly and provide feedback within expected time frames on improvements or support
    • Pay close attention to tracking disease markers
    • Be based in Lagos
    • Be required to use technology for a majority of the work

    Requirements

    • Health coach certification preferred
    • MBBS or Registered Nurse required (please do not apply if you are not a nurse or a doctor, pharmacist or psychologist or physiologist or have a health background)
    • Master’s degree or relevant qualification in social services or health-related field preferred (nursing/midwifery, public health, psychology, counseling, health education, exercise science, nutrition and dietetics, etc.) preferred but not required
    • Expert knowledge of motivational interviewing, reflective listening, behavior change theory, and health psychology preferred
    • Minimum 3 years of experience working in health coaching, health promotion, chronic illness management or other clinical role preferred.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to actively support, communicate, and teach the unique culture and values of mDoc
    • Technology savvy and enthusiastic adopter of work and personal tools. Must be comfortable with assisting others in using technology and working remotely
    • Passion for improving health care experience, outcomes and costs
    • Interest in reviewing and responding to patient and population health data
    • Fluency in English required.
    • Strong communication and "person-centred" skills
