    Cleaner

    Job Purpose

    • The Office and Guest House Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, and orderly office and Guest house environment.
    • The role ensures that office spaces, facilities, and surrounding areas are kept neat and sanitary to provide a safe and comfortable workplace for staff and visitors.

    Responsibilties
    Cleaning and Maintenance:

    • Clean and maintain offices, Guest Houses, meeting rooms, corridors, and reception areas.
    • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors regularly.
    • Dust and wipe office furniture, desks, shelves, and equipment.
    • Ensure windows, doors, and glass surfaces are clean.

    Sanitation and Hygiene:

    • Clean and disinfect toilets, washrooms, and kitchen areas.
    • Refill consumables such as soap, tissue paper, and hand sanitizers.
    • Empty waste bins and ensure proper disposal of garbage.

    Office Support Duties:

    • Assist in preparing meeting rooms before and after meetings.
    • Maintain cleanliness of office compound and surroundings where applicable.
    • Report any damages, maintenance issues, or safety concerns to the Base Manager.

    Stock Management:

    • Monitor cleaning supplies and report shortages to the Base Manager.
    • Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning materials and equipment.

    Education & Professional experience

    • Ability to work independently and maintain high cleanliness standards.
    • Basic knowledge of hygiene and sanitation practices
    • Ability to follow instructions
    • Languages: Good command of written and spoken English language and local language.

    Safety and Security Assistant

    Job Purpose

    • As part of the INTERSOS Security Team, this role provides support in the implementation of INTERSOS security policies, procedures, and security plans within the program implementation areas.
    • The position contributes to ensuring the safety and security of staff, assets, and operations while supporting the continuity of humanitarian programs.

    Responsibilties

    • Liaise with local authorities, INTERSOS staff and facilitate continuity of INTERSOS Programs
    • Linking & networking with communities, individuals, organizations and to help ensure INTERSOS staff and assets’ security
    • Ensure the FSL project activities sites are safe for project implementation
    • Ensures all project assets are safe at the field and project site
    • Manage security guards at the project sites.
    • Assist Security Officer in staff safety and security matters and act as a backup security focal point
    • Ensure all vehicles are equipped with updated fire extinguishers, first aid kits and INTERSOS emergency numbers,
    • Ensure all safety protocols and policies are implemented following the safety instructions.
    • Coordinate staff movement in the field with coordination of Security officer or SFP at the field base offices
    • Assist in implementing INTERSOS safety policies, protocols, and procedures under technical supervision.
    • Update security communication trees and maintain staff contact information.
    • Maintain relevant safety documentation, data and records for the areas of concern under technical guidance.
    • Communicate Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Contingency Plans (CP), threat assessments, and other safety policies for staff.
    • Ensure that appropriate access controls are in place for At INTERSOS facilities.
    • Support in the completion of Safety Risk Assessments (SRAs).
    • Conduct briefings and context updates
    • Report all security incidents to the security officer
    • Tracking the location of INTERSOS safety assets including, but not limited to, communications equipment, first aid kits, and so on.

    Education & Professional Requirements
    Education:

    • Minimum of Diploma in relevant fields (or other fields related to social development and humanitarian work).

    Experience:

    • 2 years of work experience in security or related field in a humanitarian/recovery context or relevant work experience in safety and security in high risk environment.

    Skills:

    • Good understanding of humanitarian safety practices, procedures and principles and their application
    • Experience, based on evidence, of humanitarian negotiation (with national authorities, local authorities, military forces)
    • Experience in reporting and emergency response planning
    • The SSA will be available 24/7 to respond to any staff concerns or incidents that might require urgent
    • attention.
    • Ability to use communication devices (sat phones, Thuraya’s, VHF and HF radio)
    • Any other duties related to the nature of the job as directed by the supervisor.
    • Familiar with the local customs and traditions.

    Head of Field Office

    Job Summary

    • The Head of Field Office shall provide leadership in the field of humanitarian interventions in the assigned Field Office.
    • He/she will manage all support functions as well as conduct project monitoring of the assigned Field Office.
    • The incumbent will work closely with the Base Manager, Support Departments (Security, Finance, Logistics, Security, and Human Resources), and the program teams to ensure organization policies, processes, and procedures are followed.
    • The Head of Field Office will ensure the needs of the office, guest houses, and other INTERSOS facilities are addressed in a timely manner.
    • He/she will be the focal point for the assigned field office to the rest of the organization.
    • He/she will be the security focal point for the assigned field office.
    • He/she will also create and maintain close relationships with local government, host community representatives, IDP representatives, local and international NGOs and international organizations, and other stakeholders.

    Responsibilities
    Base Management:

    • Ensure field office(s) and guesthouse(s) (where applicable) operate with the standard functionalities – including office rental, utilities, communications, furniture and equipment, supplies, maintenance, cleaning, fleets, security, etc.
    • Coordinate staff and field movement and coordinate with project team leads to ensure project workplans are being followed
    • Ensure regular communication and reporting between different field sites
    • Ensure field staff comply with INTERSOS policies, particularly the Safeguarding Policies and PSEAH
    • Supervise support staff in the maintenance of office and guesthouse
    • Organize the work and monitor the performance of the fleet and security guards
    • Support Logistics, HR and Finance teams in operational duties where required (e.g. local recruitment, local procurement, coordination with local government, etc)
    • Hold regular field office level meetings and bridge two-way communications between field staff and the INTERSOS country office.
    • He/she is the focal point to receive all INTERSOS items at the field office.

    Project Monitoring and reporting:

    • Independently and in coordination with the program teams conduct field monitoring in project sites, reporting stakeholder feedback and implementation progress to sector leads
    • Ensure Complaints and Feedback Mechanisms are well managed and fully implemented in the field. Ensure that internal and external referral pathways will be accessible to all staff.
    • Support in capturing success stories from the field

    Security Management:

    • As the Security Focal Point, ensure daily monitoring of security situation, daily update on staff safety, and share updates with Security Team and concerned staff
    • Submit incident report where required.
    • Support in conducting Security Risk Assessments and security audit at the field level
    • Provide periodic security update and analysis.
    • Liaise closely with key stakeholders at field level (e.g. UNDSS, local government/forces, local leaders, etc) in ensuring staff security.

    Representation:

    • Represent INTERSOS in various coordination meetings at the field level.
    • Build and maintain close relationships with local government, community and IDP representatives, other NGOs and International Organizations, and others.
    • Promote community and local acceptance of INTERSOS in the field.

    Requirements
    Education & Professional experience:

    • University Degree in any field.
    • At least 4 years progressive experience in programme implementation with at least 2 years in a middle management position in a humanitarian organization.
    • Essential computer literacy (word, excel and Internet)
    • Demonstrated practical experience in liaison, communication/negotiations with authorities and communities, risk management.

    Personal Requirements:

    • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish effective working relations with national staff members and other stakeholders.
    • Excellent coordination skills with staff and external stakeholders
    • Experience living and working in cross-cultural, multi-sector, insecure, and/or remote environments.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and in adverse conditions.
    • Proficiency in common computer packages and financial software (MS Excel, MS Word)
    • Good command of written and spoken English language and local language.

    • Adheres to all INTERSOS policies and procedures both administration and technical.
