Job Description

• Must know the Instrumentation and control including Fire and Gas discipline scope/cost/time requirements, and assist the team in meeting expectations.
• Implement innovative solutions, technology advances, and methods to effectively deal with working out of sequence.
• Perform design and drafting assignments on projects that meet project requirements on time and within budget.
• Gather data from multiple sources and prepares design drawings, schedules, Bill of Quantities, 3D models, EDMS and Material take-offs.
• Assists with recommendations and helps create final documentation.
• Understands design deliverables required for all project phases, and their various purposes.
• Work in PDMS creating instruments, cable tray routing, locating junction boxes, remote I/O cabinets, and lighting.
• Work include modification of existing instrument panels to accept PLC & DCS racks and wiring; update pneumatic instrumentation to electronics.
• Develop new instrument installation detail drawings, instrument location plan drawings, instrument elevation drawings, and loop diagrams for the refinery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Extensive experience in Electrical & Instrumentation Design.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and related software.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Highly organized and self-motivated.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

• Oversee the Instrumentation and Control team in resolving issues highlighted as part of the analysis by the planning and efficiency team.
• Ensure high availability of all Instrumentation and Control equipment and systems in the power plant.
• Minimize the cost of maintenance of the plant and optimize equipment lifecycle cost.
• Supervision of maintenance measures in the Instrumentation and Control maintenance unit and ensured the quality of maintenance.
• Ensure availability of spares and other infrastructure for maintenance.
• Minimize response time to the Operations unit for handling routine day-to-day problems.
• Optimize Mean Time between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
• Plan resource requirements for Instrumentation and Control maintenance–manpower, materials, and contracts.

Qualifications

• First Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Computer Science / Engineering (BSc / HND)
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience (2 of which is in a supervisory position) in the  Power Industry
• Member of COREN, Post Graduate degree, and other certifications are added advantages.
• Experience in a Power plant of minimum 20MW capacity
• Experience in any other oil and gas process or production facility

Skills / Knowledge Required

• Technical knowledge of all electrical systems.
• Understanding of the working of equipment and history of equipment.
• Knowledge of standard operating procedures concerning the maintenance of plant instruments and control devices.
• Good knowledge of calibration of instrument process control devices.
• Technical troubleshooting and ability to identify the root cause of problems to avoid recurrence.
• Knowledge of safety requirements and environmental aspects of power generation.
• Basic knowledge of Control Systems, knowledge of MK V and VI, Sentinel, and Egatrol is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of modern maintenance management practices and spare inventory management.
• Knowledge of statutory guidelines related to electrical equipment.
