We are seeking an accomplished, commercially minded, and strategic legal professional to serve as Company Secretary (Legal & Board Affairs) and provide executive leadership in corporate governance, legal advisory, Board administration, and regulatory compliance.
The Opportunity
The Company Secretary (Legal & Board Affairs) will serve as the principal adviser to the Board of Directors and Executive Management on corporate governance, legal, regulatory, and Board affairs. Reporting to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer while maintaining functional independence in advising the Board, the successful candidate will safeguard the Airport\'s legal interests, strengthen governance practices, ensure statutory compliance, and support sound strategic decision-making.
What You\'ll Do
- Provide strategic legal and corporate governance advice to the Board and Executive Management.
- Serve as Secretary to the Board and its Committees, coordinating Board meetings, agendas, papers, minutes, resolutions, and statutory records.
- Lead the development and implementation of the Airport\'s Corporate Governance Framework and governance policies.
- Provide legal oversight for commercial contracts, concession agreements, strategic partnerships, procurement, and corporate transactions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, concession obligations, and corporate governance standards.
- Manage legal risk, litigation, dispute resolution, ethics, compliance, and information governance programmes.
- Build and lead a high-performing Legal & Board Affairs team while promoting integrity, transparency, and accountability across the organisation.
What We\'re Looking For
- Bachelor\'s Degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognised university and admission to the Nigerian Bar.
- A Master\'s Degree (LL.M, MBA, MPA, or equivalent postgraduate qualification) is highly desirable.
- Membership of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (CGI/ICSA) or equivalent professional body will be a distinct advantage.
- Minimum of 15 years\' progressive post-call experience, including at least 7 years in a senior legal, governance, company secretarial, or Board advisory role.
- Demonstrated experience in corporate governance, Board administration, commercial law, regulatory compliance, contract negotiation, legal risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong knowledge of corporate governance principles, Nigerian company law, aviation regulatory frameworks, and public-private partnership (PPP) arrangements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, analytical, and strategic decision-making skills.
- Experience in aviation, airports, infrastructure, financial services, energy, telecommunications, or other highly regulated industries will be an added advantage.

The Opportunity
The Senior Manager – Contracts Management will provide strategic leadership for the development, negotiation, administration, monitoring, and governance of the Airport\'s contracts throughout their lifecycle. Reporting to Executive Management, the successful candidate will ensure that all contracts are commercially sound, legally compliant, operationally effective, and aligned with the Airport\'s strategic objectives while protecting its commercial interests and delivering value for money.
What You\'ll Do
- Develop and implement the Airport\'s Contracts Management Strategy and governance framework.
- Lead the negotiation, administration, monitoring, and lifecycle management of commercial, operational, engineering, infrastructure, concession, and capital project contracts.
- Provide commercial and contractual advice on procurement, public-private partnerships (PPPs), infrastructure projects, and strategic commercial initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, concession agreements, statutory requirements, and corporate governance standards.
- Manage contract performance, commercial risk, claims, change orders, renewals, and dispute resolution processes.
- Collaborate with Legal, Procurement, Finance, Engineering, and Commercial teams to optimise contract outcomes and vendor performance.
- Build and lead a high-performing Contracts Management team while promoting transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What We\'re Looking For
- Bachelor\'s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Law, Engineering, Construction Management, Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
- A Master\'s Degree (MBA, M.Sc. Procurement, Commercial Management, Construction Law, or a related field) is highly desirable.
- Relevant professional membership of NIQS, NSE, CIPSMN, CIPS, CIArb, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), or other recognised professional bodies will be an advantage.
- Minimum of 12–15 years\' progressive experience in contracts management, commercial management, procurement, construction, engineering, infrastructure, or project delivery, including at least 7 years in a senior management role.
- Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation, commercial governance, procurement, claims management, contract administration, vendor management, and risk management.
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, analytical, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Experience in aviation, airports, transportation, infrastructure, construction, energy, or other highly regulated industries will be an added advantage.
