• Use vast knowledge of image aesthetics and user comprehension to optimize image effects and user experience. Work closely with the Image Technology team to execute competitor analysis, user research and testing tasks. The individual must be able to work without close supervision and deliver within the specified deadline.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

Main Responsibilities:

• To design competitive image effects or indentify opimization directions
• To conduct competitor analysis of smartphone cameras
• To perform user research and produce conversion reports
• To test effects and experience of camera projects and summarize issues and their directions
• To use questionnaires or interviews to find out user preferences
• To keep abreast with new beauty trends in relation to image

Experience/ Skills Required:

Professional background:

• Digital product review blogger, KOL, camera sales, camera test engineer or photographer is a plus
• Knowledge of camera reviews. Experience in smartphone reviews is a big plus.
• Accurate cognition of good photos and videos
• Passion for photography and videography
• Strong execution and responsibility
• Software skills: Proficient in MicroSoft office. Proficiently using photo or video retouching tools (Photoshop, Lightroom, Affer Effets, Capcut or Davinci Resolve etc.) is a big plus.

About the Role

• We are seeking a bilingual (English & Hausa) NLU Annotator to join our language AI team. You’ll support the development of robust Natural Language Understanding (NLU) systems by accurately annotating, labeling, and evaluating text data in both languages. A minimum of 1 year of NLU/data annotation experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Annotate and label text data in English and Hausa according to project-specific guidelines (e.g., intent classification, entity tagging, sentiment, slot filling, etc.)
• Review, validate, and refine AI-generated annotations to ensure high quality and consistency
• Coordinate with NLP engineers and linguists to resolve ambiguous or complex annotation cases
• Document annotation decisions, flag patterns or issues, and suggest improvements to guidelines
• Perform quality assurance checks to maintain high inter-annotator agreement

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in both Hausa and English (written + spoken), with strong grammar and cultural nuance understanding
• At least 1 year of experience in NLU, NLP, or data annotation roles involving intents, entities, or conversational understanding
• Strong linguistic background: familiarity with syntax, semantic roles, NER, etc.
• Attention to detail, critical thinking, and ability to work with large datasets
• Experience with annotation tools/platforms (e.g., Labelbox, Prodigy, custom tools) is a plus
• Degree in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, AI, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory

Nice-to-Have

• Experience integrating results into training pipelines for chatbots or voice assistants
• Familiarity with prompt engineering or generative AI contexts
• Past work on low-resource languages or Nigerian language NLU (e.g., Hausa)
