    Business Unit Head

    Job Function

    • Managing a team of regional sales managers, product managers, Key Account Managers, trade managers and MSL across Sub-Saharan Africa that are responsible for promoting products to physicians, specialists, key opinion leaders, pharmacies and key accounts to implement the agreed sales and marketing strategy. Use established relationships and build new networks to grow the principal’s presence, drive market share growth and deliver on sales budgets. Acts as the key relationship manager between DPW & our Principal partner. Ensure that the salesforce maintains the highest ethical practices and enhances DPW’s & Principal’s reputation in the Sub-Saharan Africa region.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Deliver Growth: Achievement of sales, market share and growth objectives for the country through effective execution of agreed strategies and annual strategic brand plans.
    • Client management: Contract and governance accountability.
    • Plan and execute campaigns to support launches, promotions, and new product introductions.
    • Implement and execute strategy and action plan in line with portfolio to maximise sales market share and growth potential.
    • Manage resources, budget, stock, time, systems, sales tools, etc.
    • Identify acquisition opportunities and work with EXCO to implement and execute if approved.
    • Interact with suppliers to ensure good working relationship and smooth running of all operations.
    • Setting of sales targets, agreeing forecast, capital management, price setting, promotions, and market share.
    • Take responsibility for entire profit and loss and commercial activities.
    • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholders.
    • Identify and implement best practices and encourage innovative ideas and activities.
    • Interact with customers to drive strategic objective of the business.
    • Conduct gap analysis to identify opportunities.
    • Ensure correct staffing in accordance with policies and procedures are met i.e., recruiting, selecting and development of individuals.

    Qualifications Required:

    • A tertiary qualification in Life Sciences Sales, an MBA will be an added advantage.

    Experience and Skills Required:

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in senior sales, marketing and market access management, with proven track record in healthcare in Sub-Saharan Africa.
    • 2-3 years marketing experience in driving non-communicable diseases as well as highly specialized portfolios.
    • Key Account experience in the market would be an advantage.
    • Exposure to budget preparation and P&L management.

    Area Manager

    Job Function

    • To ensure consistent sales growth and achievement of sales goals and targets in assigned territory by identifying opportunities and gaining new business while maintaining existing business for DP World. Managing a team of well trained and motivated sales representative across the territory through regular infield training, clear communication and constructive feedback mechanisms.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Achievement of sales, market share and growth objectives for the region under your management through execution of agreed strategies and DP World strategic plan.
    • In field coaching and mentoring of sales personnel to improve overall team skills and behaviours. This includes correction of strategy and guidance on objection resolution.
    • Responsible for personnel management, monitoring and evaluating the performance of all field service personnel including the recruitment, training, coaching, development, and corrective counselling.
    • Submission of required reports within set deadlines to the Line Manager related to team performance, regional activities, projects in progress, successes and areas for improvement
    • Attend trade meetings, congresses & cycle meeting and CME/CPD
    • Maintain required team call rate/coverage targets through monitoring of SFE systems.
    • Utilising the SFE system and built-in reports to identify trends that are impacting sales performance and provide feedback to representatives for corrective action plans.
    • Maintain key opinion leader contact within the team for each rep's key customers.
    • Compile and update a Sales Operating Plan for the Region after each quarterly review with detailed analysis and feedback to the leadership team.
    • Constant performance management of the team to ensure optimal sales delivery through coaching reports, feedback and formal DP World processes.
    • Set vision and strategy for their respective region. Actively seek, identify, analyze, and present new business opportunities that can impact and drive their region.
    • Assist the marketing team with forecasting of core products.
    • Monitoring sales activities and expense budgets in-line with targets.

    Qualifications Required:

    • A tertiary qualification in Life Sciences, Sales, Marketing or Business.

    Experience and Skills Required:

    • Minimum 5 years Sales experience in the pharmaceutical industry is mandatory.
    • Minimum 5 years Sales Management experience (in particular a pharmaceutical sales team).
    • Prior experience of the Sub Sahara African region pharmacy & hospital environment is an advantage and preferred.
    • Strong sales track record and evidence of delivering on targets consistently.
    • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite.
    • Exceptional presentation and communication skills.
    • Excellent planning, organizational and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to engage, collaborate and influence at all organizational and management levels.
    • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
