    Brewing Operator

    • The key purpose of the Brewing Operator is the safe operation of one or more discrete processes in the Brewing & Utilities plant (e.g. Wort Cooling, Yeast Management, Filtration Q&C), the execution of maintenance tasks, quality control checks and analyses, and the coaching of fellow team members to produce a consistent product of the right quality at optimum cost.

    Key Roles and Responsibilities

    • Operating sub processes of the Brewing and Utilities plant according to the work instructions and supporting the plant control system and verifying that process control is being maintained.
    • Carrying out in-depth cleaning, lubrication and inspection of plant equipment according to the work instructions and/or maintenance schedules
    • Carrying out the required quality checks/ analyses as per Work Instructions & Work Practice, and recording the results on the appropriate information systems
    • Using run, control or Pareto charts to review trends and to identify opportunities for the removal of waste and variation in the process.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Matric (HND or BSC in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemical Eng’g)
    • One year experience in an FMCG environment
    • Analytical Thinking- Mechanical aptitude
    • Basic PC Literacy (Microsoft/ SAP)
    • Problem solving skills
    • Good communication skills.

    Site Maintenance Controller

    • The Key Purpose of this role is to supervise and control site services at the Brewery and which usually includes risk control, control of internal and external environmental factors, building and grounds maintenance and housekeeping and liaison with relevant local authorities in respect of environmental issues and the provision of services.

    Key Roles and Responsibilities

    • Maintain a Safe and Healthy Working Environment 
    • Comply with safety, health and environmental procedures and legislation
    • Maintain safety and housekeeping standards
    • Maintain, Repair Brewery Buildings & Optimize Civil Associated Devices
    • Plant, equipment and buildings inspected and maintained through relevant processes
    • Plan and prepare the maintenance jobs and plant relevant building shut-downs
    • Schedules completion - job allocation to artisans / contractors
    • Continuously improve (optimise) brewery civil engineering appearance
    • Allocate and plan building and related maintenance tasks
    • Manage budget allocation
    • Work in Teams
    • Communicate effectively in teams
    • Contribute to self and team development
    • Apply the VPO Principles & Practices
    • All work is carried out using the VPO principles

    Minimum Requirements

    • National Diploma
    • 3 - 5 years production in a brewing and bottling environment
    • Formal training in Risk Control and management. Comprehensive experience at the Risk Control Officer level.

    Key Attributes and Competencies:

    • Some managers & civil knowledge
    • Knowledge of accounting principles, especially stock control.
    • Some mechanical knowledge
    • Experience in managing others
    • Sound knowledge of security standards and procedures.

    CNC Operator

    • The key purpose for this role is to implement, entrench and improve the application. 

    Key Roles and Responsibilities

    • Establish & maintain high standards of safety & 5s in a workshop environment
    • Interpret Manufacturing drawings
    • Able to program CNC machines & produce G-code (Manual & MasterCAM or similar)
    • Implement proper workflow systems to streamline production output
    • Prepare, set and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling & turning
    • Supervise the machines while they execute tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce better results
    • Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements
    • Drive cost savings initiatives in a workshop environment by reducing waste & prolonging tool life
    • Participate in Root cause and component failure analysis
    • Participate in design reviews to improve product designs
    • Check, clean & maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Min –HND/B.SC in Mechanical or Equivalent Engineering Qualification
    • Prior Engineering workshop experience, operating CNC machinery
    • A minimum of 5 years fabrication experience using FANUC controls
    • Experience in using CAD/CAM software, Autodesk Inventor would be advantageous.
