Job Description

• Designing and improving recipes.
• Measuring and combining ingredients and using mixers, blenders, heat sources, and other equipment to make baked goods, such as cookies, bread, cakes, etc.
• Decorating and displaying finished products.
• Testing ingredients and finished goods to ensure that each item meets food safety and quality controls.
• Greeting customers, answering questions, making recommendations, accepting orders and payments, and providing exceptional customer service.
• Keeping records relating to deliveries, inventory, and production levels.
• Taking client information and ensuring that deliveries are fulfilled accurately and on time.
• Cleaning and restocking workstations and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by Management.

Description 

• Setting up of the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scales.
• Draft, prepare and study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients
• Preparation of food/menu in a timely manner
• Delegate tasks to kitchen staff as at when due
• Inform floor staff about daily specials
• Ensure appealing plate presentation
• Supervise Cooks and assist when required.
• Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)
• Monitor food stock and place orders as at when due
• Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items
• Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area.
• Perform any other task as directed by Management

Requirements

• Interested candidates should possess an OND, SSCE / GCE / NECO qualification with 2 - 7 years work experience.
