    Technical Sales Manager

    Job Purpose

    • The Technical Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, market penetration, and long-term client relationships by providing technically sound solutions that meet client operational requirements in the oil and gas industry. The role bridges engineering expertise and commercial strategy, ensuring that the company’s products and services are effectively positioned, competitively priced, and successfully delivered to International Oil Companies (IOCs), National Oil Companies (NOCs), and Indigenous Companies.
    • The Technical Sales Manager ensures that all technical sales activities align with company strategy, Nigerian regulatory requirements, local content obligations, and industry safety standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Translate client operational challenges into tailored technical solutions
    • Work closely with engineering, operations, supply chain management teams, as well as OEM partners to design fit-for-purpose service offerings
    • Ensure proposed solutions comply with Nigerian oil & gas industry and local content regulatory standards, as well as health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines
    • Lead technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept trials
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with International Oil Companies, National Oil Companies (NNPC and its subsidiaries) and Indigenous Companies
    • Support the Business Development and Project Management teams with the preparation of technical proposals, reviews, negotiations, and presentations to existing and potential clients
    • Develop account plans and sales pipelines aligned with company growth targets
    • Analyse market trends, upcoming projects, and competitive activity within Nigeria’s oil & gas industry
    • Support pricing strategies that balance technical value, risk, and profitability
    • Serve as the primary technical-commercial interface between clients and the company
    • Maintain long-term relationships with client decision-makers (technical, procurement, and management teams)
    • Conduct regular technical reviews, performance evaluations, and post-job analyses
    • Resolve client concerns by coordinating internally with engineering, operations and QA/QC teams
    • Support the Bids & Tendering team with technical and commercial tender responses (ITTs, RFQs, RFPs)

    Requirements

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical/electronic engineering, chemical engineering
    • Master’s degree in petroleum engineering, engineering management or MBA is an added advantage

    Experience

    • 10 – 12 years’ proven experience in engineering in the oil & gas sector, with 3 -5 years of those in Technical Sales

    Technical and Commercial Competencies

    • Strong background and knowledge of the Nigeria Oil & Gas industry value chain (upstream, midstream and downstream).
    • Ability to translate complex technical solutions into compelling business value propositions.
    • Contract pricing, negotiation, stakeholder management and deal-closure skills
    • Business writing, proposal development and presentation skills
    • Market intelligence, analysis and forecasting

    Business Development Executive

    Key Responsibilities

    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas sectors.
    • Support the development and execution of business development strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
    • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients and projects.
    • Present the company’s services to potential clients and participate in client meetings, industry events, and networking engagements.
    • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging opportunities and industry trends.
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and regulatory bodies within the industry.
    • Manage client accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business opportunities.
    • Identify and track Requests for Quotation (RFQs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs), and Invitations to Tender (ITTs).
    • Support the preparation of technical and commercial proposals, capability statements, and bid documentation.
    • Collaborate with internal teams including engineering, procurement, operations, finance, and legal to ensure successful project execution.
    • Monitor industry developments and provide market intelligence insights to support strategic decision-making.
    • Prepare periodic reports on business development activities, sales forecasts, market insights, and tender status updates.

    Requirements

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
    • An MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.

    Experience

    • 4 – 6 years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles.
    • At least 3 years of experience within the oil and gas industry.
    • Proven experience in contract acquisition, tendering, and client relationship management.
    • Experience engaging with IOCs, NOCs, and indigenous oil and gas companies is highly desirable.

    Technical Competencies

    • Strong understanding of the Nigerian oil and gas industry structure and value chain.
    • Knowledge of procurement and contracting processes used by oil companies.
    • Familiarity with local content regulations under the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act.
    • Experience with tendering and bid management processes.
    • Understanding of oilfield services including engineering, procurement, marine logistics, fabrication, and maintenance services.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
