    Assistant, Nutrition

    Job Summary

    • This role is responsible for implementing nutrition programming across field sites and for ensuring implementation of the project in accordance with the IMC set standards and protocols.

    Main Tasks And Responsibilities

    • Assist in all CMAM and Infant and Young Child Feeding activities at health facility and community level through, working with health facility staff and CHVs. 
    • Supportive supervision for CMAM and IYCF activities at health and community level and collecting, compiling the reports on a weekly and Monthly basis. 
    • Ensuring that health facility and Mobile teams services have adequate nutrition supplies for SAM and MAM 
    • Assess CMAM and IYCF training gaps for health facility workers and CHVs and recommend the best training to be conducted. 
    • Support in organizing CMAM and IYCF trainings in both health facility and community level. 
    • Train the Community health workers/volunteers MUAC screening, CMAM, nutrition and hygiene reporting, enable them effectively to deliver Key messages, in a manner that it is easy for the communities to remember, and adopt the practices. 
    • Working closely with Health and WASH team, nutrition treatment team, to ensure that nutrition messages are intergraded in all Health facilities and outreach activities. 
    • Work closely with the community and create feedback mechanism pathway, that will enable communities to provide feedback to the program and that the program team respond to issues raised by the affected population timely. 
    • Work closely with M&E section and collect monthly data and activities reports and ensure proper filing of all projects related documentation.

    Job Requirements
    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Typically, a Diploma in Nutrition, Nursing or a related field is required. 
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in CMAM & IYCF-E 
    • 2+ years of relevant work experience in administrative work 
    • Work experience in nutrition/Health programs 
    • Previous experience working for an international NGO. 
    • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond appropriately to questions from senior managers in the field. 
    • Ability and willingness to travel to project sites as needed. 
    • Strong English and Arabic skills, written and spoken. Ability to write reports in English is required.

    Midwife, LN

    Job Summary

    • Provide obstetrical care to pregnant women and their babies, doing follow-up before, during, and after delivery, according to International Medical Corps obstetrical and maternal and newborn health protocols, universal hygienic and newborn caring standards and under the supervision of a specialist doctor, to ensure their health conditions and avoid complications, during pregnancy, delivery and post-delivery.

    Main Tasks And Responsibilities

    • Ensure the implementation and continuity of antenatal and postnatal care, healthy timing and spacing of pregnancies to reduce maternal and newborn mortality, obstetrical care (BEmONC and CEmONC), neonatal, infections, and care for survivors of violence against women and girls.
    • Collaborating with the medical doctor and /or nurse in the care for survivors of violence against women and girls.
    • Assessing the feasibility of referral of pregnant women from the TBAs to the OPD/MCH.
    • Ensuring hygiene and sterilization criteria (including universal precautions) are met.

    • Manage obstetric emergencies as per national/international protocols.
    • Supervises the use of drugs, facilities and obstetric material Provide quality of care for OPD and in patient management, proper health education and collaborate with another department.
    • Conduct normal deliveries independently. Ensure daily data quality on ANC, admission, delivery, PNC, healthy timing and spacing of pregnancies to reduce maternal and newborn mortality, OPD and discharge registration, proper documentation of referral cases, and strengthen linkages.
    • Ensure nutritionally at-risk infants and their mothers also receive mental health and health promotion support (targeted to the infant developmental age) as part of an integrated approach to inpatient nutritional care and treating the infant and mother as one unit.
    • Support mothers/wet nurse mothers in proper positioning, attachments, duration, frequency of feeding, effective suckling and double suckling.
    • Provide timely and accurate reports.

    Nurse, Nutrition

    Job Summary

    • The principal objective of the Nurse, Nutrition role is to manage acute malnutrition as part of the basic health services in line with the national and international guidelines.
    • The Nurse, Nutrition is responsible for nutrition rehabilitation of the admitted children through treatment of medical complications of Severe Acute Malnutrition and prevention of further deterioration of the nutrition situation through provision of therapeutic feeds, routine and specialized medicines, health, and nutrition counselling.
    • The Nurse, Nutrition is also responsible for ensuring quality of services through capacity building and technical support to the staff in SC and OTP in the management of complications associated with Severe Acute Malnutrition in line with the SC national and international protocols.

    Main Tasks And Responsibilities

    • Ensuring comprehensive medical examination, vital signs, frequent medicines, and treatment according to the protocols. 
    • Following and adhering to the current protocols on drug administration i.e., antibiotics, antimalarial, anthelminthic. 
    • Ensuring timely therapeutic preparation and administering the appropriate feeds and medicines for the malnourished children in the SC. 
    • Carrying out daily nutritional status monitoring of severely malnourished children as prescribed in the protocol.

    • Ensuring proper handing over of duties within the SC. 
    • Preparing and updating the medical and nutritional record for ward rounds daily. 
    • Ensuring all criteria are adhered to and documented, including admission, discharge and transfer to and from the OTP. 
    • Completing and updating the patient file to ensure a track of patient progress. 
    • Compiling the statistical data (admission, default, cured, absent, death) and drafting a report on activities. 
    • Maintaining supply consumption reports.

    Job Requirements

    Medical Doctor (National)

    Job Summary

    • The National Medical Doctor is responsible for overall patient care including promotion of the health and safety of patients by conducting a thorough triage, careful history taking, physical examination, essential laboratory/radiology investigations, diagnoses, treatment, and referral as well as education of patients and their care giver.

    Main Tasks And Responsibilities

    • Provide high quality clinical care to patients based on history, appropriate physical exam, available laboratory, imaging tests, and formulary for treatment of acute and chronic conditions. 
    • Based on the area of assignment, conduct daily rounds on patients, initiate case discussions, monitor and document patient progress with any changes in management and prognosis and ensure adequate handover in case physicians' responsibilities are assigned to an inpatient facility. 
    • Advise if further testing and/or advanced care is required and initiate the referral process.
    • Initiate regular case discussions as part of hands-on training.
    • Identify gaps in staff training and provide didactic and/or hands-on training as needed. 
    • Advocate to supervisors for other necessary training of the staff working in the team as well as providing necessary training.
    • Utilize given data collection tools and provide training to other staff as needed.
    • Collect and analyze medical service data to quality of care for the patients and services.
    • Ensure standard precautions of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) measures are always implemented and adhered to as per MoH and international standards. 
    • When applicable, participate in a 24-hour health service delivery system at the clinic/facility/hospital as per shift schedules.
    • Adhere to international protocols and standards related to patient assessment, diagnostic and medical prescription of drugs. 
    • Manage and supervise other clinical staff as directed by supervisor; participate in hiring process if needed.
    • Provide health education to patients and community members concerning their diagnoses, healthy diets, physical activity, hygiene promotion, and disease prevention (such as need for vaccination, smoking cessation, etc.)
    • Adhere to administrative directives with regards to work schedules, record keeping, patient communications, re-stocking of essential drugs, consumables, and other medical supplies. 
    • Always maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
    • Immediately report any violation of IMC Code of Conduct, including patient safeguarding.
    • Conduct outreach health services in case assigned by the supervisor.

    Job Requirements
    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Typically, a Medical Degree (primary care physician) with a valid license to practice and be board certified or equivalent (board eligible).
    • Typically, 2+ years of relevant clinical work, post graduate medical experience after graduating from medical college, work in low-resource settings preferred.
    • Experience in programs relating to primary health care, maternal and child health, reproductive health, communicable and non-communicable diseases as well as emergency/outbreak response preferable. 
    • Previous NGO experience preferable 
    • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic, high-pressure environment. 
    • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written. 
    • Excellent self-motivation skills. 
    • Ability to exercise sound judgment and excellent decision-making skills.
