    Agribusiness Operations Manager

    Job Summary

    • Primary responsibilities will be to maximize the quality and yield of the various farm crops, while minimizing the cost of inputs. Included is supervision of all farming operations & farm staff, and participation in senior management decision making for the company.
    • This role can reside in Lagos but will be required to travel to Farm Locations

    Duties / Responsibilities

    • Management of farm operation and seed plant employees as well as contract labor.
    • Liaison between farm operations, business office and management.
    • Improve efficiency across operation, increase income/profitability and decrease expenses
    • Be a positive spokesperson and representative of our company in the community.
    • Inspect fields to determine crop maturity, condition, detect disease and insect issues. Direct crop operations such as planning, tilling, planting, fertilizing, cultivating, spraying, and harvesting.
    • Monitor activities such as chemical applications and harvesting to ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry/company standards.
    • Participates in key decision making for company as related to farming and seed cleaning operation.
    • Supervise the Operation of standard farm equipment including tractor, sprayer and truck
    • Maintain paper and/or electronic files for crops and seed plant.
    • Adhere to and follows all safety procedures in accordance with training and reports any dangerous conditions to management immediately.
    • Coordinates maintenance and repairs on all farm equipment as needed such as troubleshooting malfunctions and completing minor/major repairs.
    • Maintains an updated and accurate maintenance/repair log on all machines for reference purposes.
    • Maintains financial, operational, production and employment records for farm operations as requested.
    • Attend and participate in company meetings.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Education: Agricultural Degree preferred (Farm Management, Crop Management or Agribusiness Ideal).
    • 5+ years agricultural experience
    • Management & Leadership
    • Management and supervisory experience. Ability to instruct and manage others constructively.
    • Excellent people skills to utilize with staff, owner(s), customers and business partners/vendors

    • Must possess Innovation capabilities
    • Previous Crop Production Experience with: Palm Trees as well as other potential crops

    Farming Knowledge:

    • Precision farming techniques, technology and equipment.

    General:

    • Technology savvy with ability to use common office equipment such as desktop/laptop/tablet computer, smartphone. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and meet agreed upon deadlines.
    • Progressive thinker and open-minded, especially to learning new technologies to improve productivity and profitability.

    Job Description

    • Handle all corporate legal processes (e.g. intellectual property, financial/securities offerings, compliance issues, transactions, agreements, patents
    • Guarantee that all our company’s transactions comply with state laws and regulations, while actively helping our company avoid possible legal risks and violations.
    • Leading all corporate legal processes such as mergers, compliance issues, transactions, partnerships, and lawsuits.
    • The successful candidate will have outstanding negotiation and communication skills, with sharp attention to detail.
    • Prepare the appropriate legal documents for trial or court proceedings.
    • Evaluate new business partnerships with vendors and subcontractors.

    Requirements

    • Minimum Qualification: Degree
    • Proven experience as a lawyer or similar position.
    • Licensed to practice law from the Bar Association.
    • Proven background on commercial law (contract law, tax law, accounting, securities law, bankruptcy, intellectual property rights, licensing, zoning laws, etc.).
    • Excellent technical understanding of Nigerian law relating to corporate and commercial law, capital markets, corporate banking,corporate finance, properties etc.
    • Minimum of 5 years post call to bar experience.

    Secretary

    Duties

    • Answer phone calls and redirect them when necessary
    • Manage the daily/weekly/monthly agenda and arrange new meetings and appointments
    • Prepare and disseminate correspondence, memos and forms
    • File and update contact information of employees, customers, suppliers and external partners
    • Support and facilitate the completion of regular reports
    • Develop and maintain a filing system

    • Keeping abreast of local real estate laws and regulations, government regulations that affect real estate, and market conditions to help identify potential investment opportunities
    • Drafting letters and notices to clients, colleagues, vendors, or other parties involved in real estate transactions

    Requirements

    • NCE / ND in any Discipline
    • 2 - 3 yaers of work experience.
    • Proven work experience as a Secretary or Administrative Assistant
    • Familiarity with office organization and optimization techniques
    • High degree of multi-tasking and time management capability
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Proficiency in MS Office.
