    Business Operations Intern

    • The Business Operations Intern will support the daily operational, administrative, and analytical functions that keep the company’s cross-border payment engine running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who wants to understand how international remittances work, end-to-end operations, compliance, treasury, customer onboarding, payment processing, reconciliations, and partner management.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in maintaining communication channels with internal and external stakeholders
    • Assist in maintaining accurate records of transactions, customer interactions, and process documentation
    • Conduct research on industry trends, competitor offerings, and customers’ preferences
    • Collaborate with various departments to design strategies for all business operations projects.
    • Support with filing and proper documenting of all Partnership-related paperwork.
    • Provide general support to team members as needed to ensure smooth operations of the business.
    • Any other responsibilities as may be required.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field 
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

    Payment Operations Intern

    Responsibilities

    Transaction Monitoring & Operations

    • Monitor daily transaction flows across payouts, collections, and card transactions
    • Identify failed, pending, or delayed transactions and escalate promptly
    • Track transaction success rates and flag anomalies or downtime impact
    • Support operational reporting on transaction volumes and performance

    Settlement Operations

    • Assist in preparing and validating daily settlement reports across all payment providers
    • Ensure accurate settlement of merchant balances (credits/debits)
    • Track settlement timelines and ensure adherence to SLAs
    • Investigate settlement discrepancies between internal records and provider reports
    • Match transactions between systems and identify exceptions (breaks)
    • Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies promptly
    • Maintain reconciliation trackers and ensure all open items are closed

    Exception Handling & Issue Resolution

    • Investigate failed transactions (e.g., debited but not credited scenarios)
    • Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, support) to resolve transaction issues
    • Ensure timely resolution of customer complaints within defined SLAs
    • Maintain detailed documentation of incidents and resolutions
    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports
    • Analyze trends and highlight risks or improvement opportunities
    • Support KPI tracking (e.g., success rate, TAT, uptime impact)

    Requirements

    • Strong analytical and numerical skills
    • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
    • Basic understanding of payment systems (preferred)
    • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups)
    • Problem-solving mindset
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Good stakeholder management skills

    Marketing Intern

    Responsibilities

    • Support execution of integrated marketing campaigns across digital, events, partnerships, and outbound channels
    • Assist in content and messaging development across social media, email, website, and campaign assets
    • Support social media management, including publishing, community engagement, and performance tracking
    • Assist in event marketing and execution (webinars, workshops, field activations), including coordination, logistics, and attendee engagement
    • Support lead generation efforts, including campaign setup, landing pages, and follow-up workflows

    • Basic skills in content creation tools (Canva, Figma, Adobe Premiere, or similar).
    • Interest in fintech, B2B marketing, and African business ecosystems.
    • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple tasks.
    • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced startup environment.
    • Portfolio of writing or video projects (can include school projects or personal work) is a plus.

    Business Development Intern

    Responsibilities

    • Support the sales team in engaging and converting marketing and sales-qualified leads across Duplo’s product suite
    • Assist with outbound lead generation efforts (e.g., researching prospects, building lead lists)
    • Assist with outreach to leads via email and calls to schedule product demos and meetings
    • Provide administrative and research support to the Sales team in identifying new business opportunities and potential partnerships
    • Support with product demos and presentations to clients
    • Assist in tracking leads, updating CRM records, and maintaining accurate sales data
    • Collaborate with the marketing team on campaigns and initiatives

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field
    • Strong interest in Sales/Business development in the financial technology space
    • Good written and verbal communication skills 
    • Good knowledge of Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
    • Familiarity with sales tools (eg. HubSpot, Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator) is a plus
    • Proactive attitude with good organizational and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
