From 1994 , I have been a consultant to corporations on political risk and related issues, particularly in the larger Middle East, and the Balkans under GDP Associates, Inc., my company , since 1994, now located in Connecticut. Prior to forming GDP Associates, Inc. I was a United Nations official (f... read morerom 1973) personally involved in negotiations with Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Lebanon, Turkey and Cypress. I was directly involved with the negotiations that ended the Iran-Iraq war (1988) and the Afghanistan war (1988). In 1991 and 1992 I executed the operation which lead to the freedom of the western hostages in Lebanon (for detail see book "Man Without A Gun",

For my role in the hostage release I was awarded the: Special Award for Exceptional Service, by US President,Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, by President of Germany and The Order of St. Michael and St. George by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
