As the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of multiple truck maintenance workshops to ensure the fleet operates at peak performance.
You will plan and coordinate preventive maintenance, supervise technical teams, and manage budgets, processes, and spare parts to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day operations of truck maintenance workshops across three branches
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for the fleet
Supervise and mentor mechanics, technicians, and support staff
Ensure all repairs and maintenance work are performed to the highest standards of quality and safety
Manage spare parts inventory and procurement in a cost-effective manner
Monitor workshop performance, downtime reports, and service turnaround times
Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
Coordinate with the logistics/fleet operations team to prioritize urgent repairs
Control maintenance budgets and reduce operational costs without compromising quality
Prepare and present regular reports on workshop performance, costs, and fleet readiness
Liaise with external service providers and vendors where necessary
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering, Transport Management, or related field
Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in heavy-duty truck maintenance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role
Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, refrigeration trucks, and fleet systems
Proven experience managing multiple workshop locations is an added advantage
Strong leadership, people management, and team coordination skills
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with fleet management/maintenance software
Ability to work under pressure and deliver results within tight timelines.
