A motivated and technically savvy Windows System Engineerwho is adept at designing, installing, and configuring Windows servers, storage arrays, open-source platforms and performing system integration, testing, and operational support. The ideal person enjoys solving challenging problems in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment and has an interest in learning more about Linux.
What you will do…
Manage and monitor all systems and infrastructure
Execute daily support of all systems
Monitor and test system performance
Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors
Develop strategies for system improvements
Create system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts
Perform server and security audits and system backup procedure
Integrate servers
Ensure system connectivity of all servers
Qualification
5+ years of experience working as a Windows Engineer
2+ years of experience working with Linux OS
Versed in Hyper-V and VMWare hypervisors both stand alone and clustered environments
Knowledge in multiple scripting languages (PowerShell, Python etc.)
Experience using and configuring Salt a plus
Experience with a variety of OS tools and utilities for managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting Windows infrastructure and networks.
Knowledge of AD, DHCP, DNS, LDAP, CIFS, and multi-platform system security
Experience with proxying, load balancing, sticky sessions a plus
Zabbix or similar monitoring tools is a plus
IIS support background and experience is a plus
Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent work experience with a multitude of relevant certifications
