Job Summary

The Welder is responsible for performing all types of welding, cutting, and fabrication works related to the installation, repair, and maintenance of mill house equipment, pipelines, structural supports, and other plant components.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• The role ensures strong, safe, and precise welding works to maintain plant reliability, efficiency, and safety standards.
• Perform cutting, grinding, and fitting operations to prepare materials for welding and assembly.
• Ensure proper joint alignment, penetration, and finishing to meet quality standards.
• Support mill, fabrication, and maintenance teams in breakdown repairs and planned shutdowns.
• Conduct visual and dimensional inspection of welds to confirm compliance with drawing specifications.
• Follow approved welding procedures and safety standards (including PPE usage and fire prevention).
• Prepare and maintain welding tools, equipment, and gas cylinders in good working condition.
• Assist in fabrication of supports, handrails, platforms, and chutes as required.
• Maintain accurate daily welding and repair records.
• Participate in preventive maintenance activities and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Educational Qualification and Work Experience

• Technical Trade Test (TT) Certificate or Diploma in Welding / Fabrication Technology.
• Minimum 5–8 years of industrial welding experience in sugar, power, or process plants.
