We are seeking a talented a Warehouse Supervisor that will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse to ensure the efficient receipt, storage, inventory control, and dispatch of raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods, and other inventory. The role ensures compliance with company policies, Good Warehousing Practices (GWP), safety standards, and regulatory requirements while maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting uninterrupted production and distribution activities.
Position Responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day operations and activities of warehouse personnel to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Coordinate the receipt, storage, issuance, and dispatch of goods in accordance with company policies and Good Warehousing Practices (GWP).
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular stock verification, reconciliation, and effective stock control systems.
- Ensure proper storage of materials under required environmental conditions and appropriate segregation of quarantined, expired, and approved goods.
- Optimize the use of warehouse space, equipment, and vehicles while supporting capacity planning and operational efficiency.
- Enforce compliance with warehouse safety, security, housekeeping, and emergency procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct routine inspections of warehouse facilities, equipment, tools, and vehicles, ensuring they remain in good working condition.
- Prepare and maintain warehouse reports, SOPs, and documentation, ensuring timely and accurate record-keeping.
- Train, coach, and monitor warehouse staff to ensure compliance with procedures and performance expectations.
- Support the timely supply of materials to production and the distribution of finished goods to depots.
- Collaborate with management and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless material flow and operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend initiatives that enhance warehouse productivity and cost-effectiveness.
- Perform any other job-related duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.
Educational Requirements
The candidate should have at least, Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Management, or a related field. Professional certification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehousing, or Inventory Management is an added advantage.
Core Competencies
- Have a minimum of 5 years post NYSC experience in warehouse or inventory management.
- Experience in pharmaceutical/bio-pharmaceutical industry is a must.
- Candidate must be conversant with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or ERP systems.
- Candidate must understand warehouse safety and occupational health requirements.
- Candidate must know stock control and inventory reconciliation techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel and PPT.
- Excellent communication, report-writing skills, team leadership, and a problem-solving ability.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
