Job Summary

The Truck Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of raw materials, finished products, machinery, spare parts, and other company assets to designated locations. The role requires strict compliance with road traffic laws, company safety standards, and operational procedures while ensuring the assigned vehicle is maintained in a safe and roadworthy condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate company trucks to transport raw materials, finished goods, and other company assets.
• Ensure timely delivery and collection of goods while maintaining their safety and integrity during transit.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report mechanical faults or maintenance needs.
• Ensure assigned vehicles are clean, roadworthy, and properly maintained.
• Comply with all road traffic regulations, road signs, company policies, and Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) requirements.
• Verify loading and offloading of goods and ensure cargo is properly secured before movement.
• Maintain accurate trip records, fuel usage, mileage, vehicle inspection reports, and delivery documentation.
• Report accidents, breakdowns, delays, security incidents, or damaged goods immediately.
• Maintain professional conduct when dealing with customers, suppliers, security personnel, and regulatory authorities.
• Assist with loading and unloading of goods when required.
• Perform any other transportation or logistics-related duties assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE/WAEC/NECO) or its equivalent.
• Minimum of five (5) years proven experience driving heavy-duty trucks, preferably within a manufacturing or logistics environment.
• Valid Nigerian Driver's Licence appropriate for heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
• Good knowledge of Nigerian road networks, road signs, traffic laws, and defensive driving techniques.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle inspection and preventive maintenance.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and complete delivery documentation.
• Physically and medically fit to operate heavy-duty vehicles.
• High level of integrity, responsibility, professionalism, and safety consciousness.
• Good communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel, work overtime, weekends, public holidays, or shifts when operationally required.
• Must successfully pass the company\\\'s driving assessment, medical examination, and background verification before employment.
