Treasury Analyst at Proten

Role Purpose

• The Treasury Analyst will support the Treasury Manager in managing liquidity, trade finance instruments, and foreign exchange transactions. This role is pivotal in ensuring that funds are available for large-scale crop procurement and production, while ensuring strict compliance with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulatory frameworks and export guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Liquidity & Cash Management: Monitor daily cash positions to ensure adequate funding for local procurement and factory operations.
• Trade Finance Operations: Coordinate the processing of Form M, LC (Letters of Credit), and PAAR documentation to facilitate seamless imports.
• Export Compliance: Track and manage the repatriation of export proceeds in line with CBN timelines to ensure the company remains in good regulatory standing.
• FX Management: Execute FX transactions and stay updated on CBN FX policies to mitigate exchange rate risks.
• Banking Operations: Manage relationships with commercial banks, handle bank reconciliations, and monitor interest/service charges.
• Reporting: Prepare periodic treasury reports on cash flow forecasts, debt positions, and FX utilisation for management review.

Technical Requirements

• Regulatory Expertise: Deep understanding of the Nigerian banking ecosystem, including current CBN FX manuals and I&E window operations.
• Trade Knowledge: Hands-on experience with Form M and PAAR processes is mandatory.
• Software Proficiency: Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel skills; prior experience using an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) is highly preferred.
• Industry Context: Previous experience in an Agri-business or FMCG environment is an added advantage.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of core experience in Treasury or Trade Finance.
• Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume transaction environment.
