    Trade Channel Executive

    Job Description

    • The Trade Channel Executive is responsible for developing, executing, and managing the distribution strategy for the company's products through various trade channels, including wholesalers, retailers, and distributors. 
    • This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with trade partners, ensuring optimal product availability, visibility, and sales performance. 
    • The Trade Channel Executive will work closely with the sales, marketing, and distribution teams to implement effective trade marketing initiatives and drive business growth in the pharmaceutical sector.

    Responsibilities
    Trade Channel Management:

    • Channel Strategy Implementation:Assist in the development and execution of trade channel strategies to ensure the availability, visibility, and accessibility of pharmaceutical products in key markets across Nigeria.
    • Distributor and Retailer Relationships:Build and maintain strong relationships with key distributors, wholesalers, and retailers to ensure smooth product distribution and achieve sales targets.
    • Distribution Coverage:Monitor and enhance the distribution network to ensure maximum market penetration and the presence of products in relevant healthcare outlets, pharmacies, and clinics.
    • Sales Support:Provide sales teams and distributors with necessary tools, training, and support to achieve sales objectives and optimize product placements.

    Trade Marketing and Promotions:

    • Promotional Activities:Work closely with the marketing team to execute trade marketing campaigns, promotions, and product launches aimed at increasing sales and brand awareness in the market.
    • Trade Visibility:Ensure that the products are prominently displayed and available in retail outlets, including the management of shelf space and promotional materials.
    • Market Intelligence:Collect and report on competitor activities, market trends, and customer feedback to inform trade marketing strategies and product positioning.

    Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

    • Sales Monitoring:Track sales performance across trade channels, monitor stock levels, and ensure that distribution and sales targets are met on time.
    • KPIs and Metrics:Analyze sales data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of trade programs and implement improvements.
    • Reporting:Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market conditions, and trade channel activities for senior management.

    Compliance and Regulatory Management:

    • Regulatory Compliance:Ensure that all trade practices comply with local pharmaceutical regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
    • Product Handling and Storage:Ensure that products are stored, handled, and transported according to regulatory requirements to maintain product quality and safety.

    Collaboration and Teamwork:

    • Cross-functional Collaboration:Work closely with the sales, marketing, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure that trade channel objectives align with overall business goals.
    • Customer Relationship Management:Provide feedback and insights to the customer service team regarding customer needs, issues, and opportunities in the trade channel.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
    • Additional certifications or training in trade marketing, sales management, or pharmaceuticals is a plus.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in trade channel management or sales, preferably in the pharmaceutical, FMCG, or healthcare industry.
    • Proven track record in working with distributors, retailers, and trade partners to achieve sales and distribution objectives.

    Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, including regulations and market dynamics in Nigeria.
    • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to monitor and interpret sales data.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools.
    • Ability to develop and implement trade marketing strategies that drive product visibility and sales.
