    Tracking and Recovery Officer

    Job Summary

    • The Tracking and Recovery Officer is responsible for locating, monitoring, and recovering company assets or outstanding debts from customers who have defaulted on payments.
    • The role involves field investigations, customer engagement, negotiation of repayment plans, and ensuring the recovery of financed assets or overdue accounts in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.

    Key Responsibilities
    Asset Tracking:

    • Monitor and track financed assets to ensure they are properly utilized and located.
    • Conduct field visits to verify the location and condition of financed assets.
    • Use available tracking systems and databases to monitor asset movement.
    • Maintain updated records of asset locations and customer information.

    Debt Recovery:

    • Follow up with customers with overdue payments through calls, visits, and written communication.
    • Negotiate repayment plans with defaulting customers.
    • Recover outstanding debts in line with company policies and procedures.
    • Escalate difficult recovery cases to management when necessary.

    Asset Repossession:

    • Coordinate the repossession of company assets from defaulting customers when required.
    • Ensure repossession activities comply with legal and company guidelines.
    • Prepare and document repossession reports.

    Field Investigation:

    • Conduct investigations to locate customers who have defaulted or relocated.
    • Gather relevant information about customers to facilitate recovery.
    • Work closely with local authorities and recovery agents when necessary.

    Documentation & Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of recovery activities, customer interactions, and asset status.
    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly recovery reports.
    • Update the recovery database with progress and outcomes.

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    • Percentage of recovered outstanding debts.
    • Number of successfully tracked assets.
    • Reduction in non-performing loans (NPL).
    • Recovery turnaround time.
    • Accuracy and timeliness of recovery reports.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
    • Relevant training or certification in credit management or recovery is an advantage.
    • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in debt recovery, credit control, asset tracking, or a related role.
    • Experience in financial services, microfinance, automobile financing, or asset financing is an added advantage.

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
    • Good investigative and analytical abilities.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet recovery targets.
    • Knowledge of credit recovery processes and legal procedures.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
