Temple Clothing Supervisor at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

JOB DESCRIPTION

To ensure the success of temple operations and patron experience, the Temple Clothing Supervisor is to supervise the work and schedules of the clothing team to provide clean and well-cared-for temple clothing and other linen supplies for temple patrons, workers, and employees. The supervisor will oversee the budget and ensure that an adequate inventory of clothing is maintained to temple standards. This position reports to the Temple Recorder.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead temple clothing workers (including Church employees, Church Service Missionaries, or Volunteers) to coordinate their work schedules and arrange assignments to ensure prompt and cheerful services to patrons.
• Trains, coach and provide orientations to all clothing workers as a supervisor.
• Ensure prompt and cheerful service to all patrons desiring temple clothing through proper scheduling and supervision of workers.
• Maintain high morale and work ethics among workers. Monitor and evaluate the performance of staff.
• Maintain adequate inventory of rental clothing, cleaning materials, etc., by monitoring stocks and requesting for new supplies with adequate lead time.
• See that rental clothing is maintained in clean and serviceable condition, by monitoring its condition and by cultivating quality consciousness culture among the workers.
• Supervise handling of, and accounting for rental clothing cash registry daily.
• Ensure that the patron’s service area is pleasant and orderly by upkeeping a tranquil atmosphere and making improvements as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a member of the Church with a current Temple Recommend
• 2 years of linen and laundry experience (commercial or temple)
• 2 years of supervisory and inventory control experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Effective communicator, results-driven, detail-minded, organized, and capable to work under tight timelines and pressure while delivering meaningful results.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs./23kgs.
• Able to bend, kneel, pull, push, climb, raise arms above head, and stand for long periods of time in a physically demanding and fast-paced work environment.
• Proficient in English, written and oral.
• Flexibility in work schedule (including working on some Saturdays, public holidays, or evenings)
