Afrihealth is seeking an exceptional Technical Product Manager who will play a key role in driving innovation that propels the company through product led growth. This position requires a Technical Product Manager with deep understanding of product technicalities, a passion for healthcare technology, and a proven track record in achieving product vision.
Responsibilities:
Define the Technical Vision and Strategy: Collaborate with the Product Lead to define the technical vision and strategy for AfriHealth’s health tech products, ensuring alignment with the overall product vision, company goals, and market needs.
Translate Product Requirements into Technical Specifications: Work closely with stakeholders to gather and prioritize product requirements, and translate them into detailed technical specifications and user stories for the development team.
Collaborate with Development Teams: Partner with engineering and design teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of product features, enhancements, and technical solutions. Act as a bridge between product and engineering, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
Technical Feasibility and Risk Assessment: Evaluate the technical feasibility of product ideas and features, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies. Ensure that technical decisions align with the product roadmap and long-term goals.
Conduct Market and Technical Research: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor products to identify opportunities for technical innovation and product differentiation. Gather customer feedback to inform technical improvements.
Monitor and Optimize Product Performance: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product performance, scalability, and reliability. Use data and user feedback to drive continuous iteration and improvement of the product’s technical aspects.
Support Go-to-Market Strategy: Collaborate with the Product Lead and marketing teams to support the go-to-market strategy for new product releases, ensuring that technical aspects are well-documented and communicated to internal and external stakeholders.
Serve as a Technical Subject Matter Expert: Act as the go-to technical expert for AfriHealth’s health tech products, providing guidance and support to internal teams (e.g., sales, customer support) and external customers on technical matters.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, sales, marketing, and customer support, to ensure alignment and successful product delivery. Facilitate communication and collaboration across teams.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field.
Technical Background: Strong technical background with a deep understanding of software development, architecture, and emerging technologies. Experience with health tech or related industries is a plus.
Product Management Experience: Proven experience in technical product management, with a track record of successfully delivering complex technical products.
Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making and prioritize technical initiatives.
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams, with a focus on fostering collaboration and innovation.
Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with a solid understanding of Agile principles and practices.
Customer-Centric Mindset: A strong focus on customer needs and the ability to balance technical requirements with user experience.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Experience in a fast-paced startup is an added advantage.
