Oversee the design and implementation of cost-reflective tariff structures, balancing affordability, investment incentives, and economic sustainability.
Conduct impact assessments of tariff changes and provide recommendations to the CEO.
Develop competitive procurement frameworks for electricity supply, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Advise on strategies for integrating renewable energy sources and distributed generation into the state’s power procurement plans.
Oversee regulatory strategies to foster competition in electricity generation and distribution.
Monitor market performance and advise on interventions to prevent monopolistic practices.
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop fair market rules and dispute resolution mechanisms.
Conduct periodic market assessments to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for sectoral growth.
Supervise the collection, analysis, and reporting of electricity market data for informed decision-making.
Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarking metrics for regulatory oversight.
Lead research initiatives on emerging trends in electricity market structures, renewable energy integration, and technology advancements.
Prepare periodic reports on market developments, economic impacts, and policy effectiveness.
Engage with federal regulatory agencies, market operators, and industry stakeholders to drive Lagos State’s electricity agenda.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Economics, Energy Policy, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
Master’s degree in Energy Economics, Policy, Regulation, or an MBA (preferred).
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the electricity sector, regulatory affairs, policy development, or market operations.
Strong understanding of electricity market design, tariff setting methodologies, and power procurement mechanisms.
Experience working with government agencies, regulatory bodies, or multilateral energy organizations.
Proficiency in data analysis, economic modeling, and policy impact assessment.
