    Tax Officer

    ROLE SUMMARY

    This role supports the tax unit by ensuring compliance with Nigerian tax laws, assist in tax planning and managing audits. This role is critical in maintaining accurate tax records and facilitating smooth interactions with the tax authorities. 

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Support in conducting in-house tax risk assessments to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
    • Prepare monthly tax returns and ensure timely filing and remittance of VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT and other relevant tax returns.
    • Assist in developing tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.
    • Maintain accurate tax records and documentation.
    • Support the preparation of transfer pricing documentation and tax computations.
    • Reconcile tax accounts and ensure proper journal entries in the ERP system.
    • Liaise with tax authorities during audits and assessments.
    • Represent the company in tax-related discussions and negotiations.
    • Support in document collations and arrangements for processing of Capital Acceptance Certificate from Federal Ministry of Industries for the purpose of Capital allowance claims
    • Processing of Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC) 

     

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • Professional qualification (ICAN, ACCA or CITN equivalent) is an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Tax and Regulatory Compliance 

    KEY COMPETENCIES

    • Understanding of Nigerian tax laws and regulatory frameworks
    • Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and MS Excel.
    • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
