    About Feed the Future Nigeria Agribusiness Investment Activity

    • The five-year USAID Feed the Future Nigeria Agribusiness Investment Activity (the Activity), implemented by CNFA as part of the United States Government’s Feed the Future Initiative, strengthens the business enabling environment to promote private sector investment in agriculture.
    • To achieve this goal, the Activity focuses on four interrelated components: improving the ease of doing business in the agricultural sector; broadening access to finance by mitigating the credit risks of agribusinesses; promoting investment opportunities for agribusinesses to expand and scale up operations; and enhancing the performance standards of agribusiness MSMEs.
    • In line with the U.S. and Nigerian Government’s commitment to growing the non-oil-based economy, these efforts will increase the quality, quantity, market access, and diversification of Nigeria’s agribusiness sector.

    Assignment Summary

    • To provide technical support and maintenance for Feed the Future Nigeria Agribusiness Investment Activity’s IT systems and networks, including troubleshooting and resolving issues, updating software, managing access and credentials, patching, and updating, procuring devices, and assisting with data backup and recovery.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Administer the configuration and installation of various network devices and services.
    • Manage and maintain network and data backups.
    • Participate as an active member of the information technology team, providing IT related support from simple to complex tasks.
    • Respond to Helpdesk support, troubleshooting problems and assist in simplifying technical solutions to CNFA Staff.
    • Deployment of computers and mobiles devices with an updated version of operating system and supporting applications.
    • Follow-up with Internet Providers on service status for all CNFA service locations (Office, COP’s House etc.)
    • Installation and setup of desktop monitors and desktop phones for end users.
    • Support the repair/maintenance of PC hardware components, and software.
    • Identifying and resolving issues with office copiers and printers’ toners/cartridges and replacing them when necessary.
    • Provide aid in upkeep of inventory records and documentation pertaining to equipment.
    • Assist in maintaining inventory records and documentation for equipment.
    • Escalating unresolved tasks to HO IT contact for onward resolution.
    • Perform other duties/projects as assigned.

    Summary of Skills / Minimum Qualifications
    The IT Consultant should meet the following qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or any relevant area.
    • At least 2 years of relevant hands-on work experience.
    • Excellent customer service skills, basic troubleshooting skills, ability to work well in a team environment.
    • Basic experience with Microsoft Office suite in a technical support environment.
    • Basic experience with networking technologies and services.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve diverse hardware and software problems.
    • Basic skill in research/application and understanding technical documentation.
    • Basic skills with the ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints.
    • Experience working on a USAID or donor-funded project is preferred.
    • Fluency in English is required.
    • Be ready to start immediately.
