Job Summary

The Sortex Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the sorting (Sortex) machine to ensure accurate separation of defective, discolored, or foreign materials from finished products. The role ensures high-quality output, minimal wastage, and smooth machine operation in line with production standards.

Job Details

1. Machine Operation
   • Operate the Sortex/color sorting machine efficiently.
   • Set machine parameters according to product specifications.
   • Start, stop, and monitor machine performance during production.
2. Quality Control
   • Ensure accurate sorting of products based on color, size, and defects.
   • Continuously check output quality and make necessary adjustments.
   • Remove defective or contaminated materials.
3. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
   • Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of the machine.
   • Identify and report faults or malfunctions promptly.
   • Coordinate with maintenance team for major repairs.
4. Production Support
   • Meet daily production targets while maintaining quality.
   • Minimize material wastage and downtime.
   • Maintain proper documentation of production output.
5. Health, Safety & Hygiene
   • Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
   • Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment.
   • Use PPE and ensure compliance with safety standards.
6. Record Keeping & Reporting
   • Maintain logs of machine performance, defects, and output.
   • Report production issues to the supervisor.
   • Support audits and inspections.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum of OND / Technical certification .
• Minimum of 4 years of experience operating Sortex or similar machines.
• Knowledge of food processing, grain, rice, sesame seed, cashew, or seed sorting (advantage).
• Ability to read and understand machine manuals.
• Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.
• Ability to work in shifts.
