Vendease is building a team of the best content creators in food and lifestyle. We are looking for a top social media content creator to help us build our digital presence across TikTok, Reels, and other video-dependent platforms!

About Role

The Social Content Creator for Vendease Africa is a creative and innovative media talent on our Marketing and Social Futures team.

An ideal candidate will understand how to use social videos to develop, engage, and inform audiences across platforms, and be clued in on emerging channel features and how Vendease can use them effectively. In addition to daily posting, this role will work closely with other team members to develop and execute a content creation strategy across platforms (including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging channels), report on performance, deliver actions and insights, as well as manage daily content creation, editing and defining visual direction of social videos. This role is intended for someone with strong verbal communication skills and enthusiasm about joining a leading food and hospitality brand.

This person will work closely with the Social Futures Lead (based in Lagos). They will work extremely closely with the broader Marketing and Communications teams to optimise content for social platforms.

They will be responsible for translating both editorial content and client briefs into short-form videos where necessary. They should be comfortable in front of a camera, attending multifunctional events and meeting new people. 

A general knowledge of, and passion for lifestyle is essential.

What You’ll do

• Take ownership of Vendease’s social platforms, execution and day-to-day optimizations to increase traffic, engagement, and other core KPIs

• Create quick-form videos for Vendease’s video platforms on a daily basis based on relevant social media trends

• Event coverage for Vendease based on communicated briefs; cover events highlights and distribute content across relevant channels & provide performance reports.

• Collaborate with video, comms and designers to develop content packages and rollout strategies that are optimised for the Vendease audience

• Work in partnership with the content and design teams to continually improve how social media drives traffic and loyalty; Brainstorm new ideas and plan rollout strategies for testing

• Work with Social Futures lead to report on regular progress and learnings; Adjust social strategy according to KPI pacing and report on wins and losses

• Become an advocate for Vendease in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate

• Foster and maintain relationships with internal and external content partners, including day-to-day management of partnerships, from pitching articles to cross-posting content

Requirements

• Experienced social media professional

• Passionate about food and the food industry

• Comfortable in front of a camera, eloquent and able to create content on the go

• Passion for emerging social platforms 

• Strong editorial judgement including copywriting and editing skills

• Obsessed with social media trends across different platforms

• Ability to hit key social and engagement metrics

• Ability to build campaigns through social data

• Experience using photo and video editing apps like Canva, Capcut is a plus
