Site Foreman at Domeo Resources International (DRI)

Location of Job: Uyo, Akwa Ibom

Reports to: Project Manager
Main Function

The site Foreman is responsible for directing, supervising and troubleshooting routine issues that occur on the job site and overseeing daily operations at a worksite to ensure the completion of projects in a safe and efficient manner. Their duties include hiring Construction Workers and trade professionals to perform specific tasks, monitoring budgeting expenses for Workers, supplies or tools and reviewing laws and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.

Role Responsibilities

• Coordinating daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery and personnel
• Delegating individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors
• Recruiting, hiring, training, managing and mentoring employees and contractors
• Providing adequate resources and staffing to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices and safety needs
• Emphasizing safe use of tools, machinery and equipment while providing training on safety gear, helmets and procedures
• Developing and managing project budgets and quality standards for all sites
• Resolving conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably
• Regularly reporting project status to supervisors, site engineers and other officials
• Work closely with the management team to determine hiring needs, deadlines for specific tasks, and safety protocols to enforce among Workers.
• Manage projects onsite and host meetings with teams of Construction Workers to establish project deadlines, safety procedures, work schedules or payment details.
•  May also be responsible for using their trade experience to participate in construction projects.

Experience/Qualification

• OND in any related field/Trade test certificate
• Proven experience as a Foreman for other construction sites, in-depth knowledge of equipment and construction procedures
• Minimum of 5 years Concrete, Earthworks and Asphalting experience
