    SGBV Mentors

    Location: Pulka, Gwoza LGA

    Job Summary
    The SGBV Mentors will be responsible for case management and psychosocial support of vulnerable women, including survivors of SGBV in Pulka

    Main Responsibilities

    • Provide direct, one-on-one and ongoing case management services, including safety planning
    • Provide direct, one-on-one emotional support to survivors throughout case management process including final case evaluation and closure
    • Identify gaps in referral services and report these gaps to the project officer for action.
    • Support formation of women and girls groups in target locations
    • Liaise with community mobilizers for purposes of survivor follow-up as part of case management to individual survivors.
    • Ensure survivor-centered services, including adherence to guiding principles of respect, confidentiality, safety and security and non-discrimination
    • Complete and maintain case management records to maximize confidentiality and safety
    • Participate in case review meetings and referral coordination meetings if needed
    • Contribute to a positive team environment
    • Maintain confidentiality and ethical conduct
    • Submit weekly and monthly activities reports to the Project Officer every Friday and at the end of each month

    Supervisory Responsibility:

    • None

    Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse:

    • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within GSWA and amongst beneficiaries served by GSWA.
    • Any other duties that may be assigned from time by supervisors

    Compliance & Ethics:

    • Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout GWSA. As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of GSWA and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards. Conducts work with the highest level of integrity.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Minimum of NCE, ND or equivalent desirable
    • Hausa and English languages required.
    • Demonstrated commitment to helping others.
    • Demonstrated discretion and good judgment
    • Experience working with survivors of SGBV an asset
    • Residing and comfortable working in Pulka, Gwoza LGA

    Key Competencies:

    • Strong communication skills: oral, written and presentation skills.
    • Should be a team player and culturally sensitive.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in mobile data collection tools (especially kobocollect)
    • Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations.
    • Commitment to and understanding of GSWA’s aims, values and principles.
