Senior Structural Designer at Scruples Resources

MAIN FUNCTIONS

• Develop detailed structural designs and drawings for oil & gas and industrial facilities.
• Prepare structural layouts, framing plans, sections, elevations, and fabrication drawings.
• Develop and maintain 2D and 3D structural models using relevant design software.
• Design and detail structural steel, concrete structures, platforms, pipe racks, equipment supports, and access structures.
• Review structural drawings, specifications, calculations, and engineering documents.
• Coordinate structural designs with piping, mechanical, civil, electrical, instrumentation, and other disciplines.
• Identify and resolve design clashes, interferences, and constructability issues.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable project specifications, codes, standards, and safety requirements.
• Support preparation of material take-offs and bills of materials.
• Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, model reviews, and technical meetings.
• Provide technical support during fabrication, construction, installation, and commissioning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Produce accurate structural design and drafting deliverables in accordance with project requirements.
• Develop structural steel detailing, connection details, supports, platforms, walkways, ladders, stairs, and handrails.
• Prepare structural drawings for fabrication and construction.
• Review vendor drawings and incorporate approved information into structural models.
• Conduct site surveys and field verification where required.
• Coordinate structural interfaces with foundations, equipment, piping, and other facility components.
• Incorporate engineering changes and maintain accurate design documentation.
• Check work produced by junior structural designers and provide technical guidance.
• Resolve construction and fabrication queries related to structural design.
• Support multidisciplinary design and engineering reviews.
• Ensure deliverables are completed within required quality, schedule, and project standards.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• HND, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent technical qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Structural Design, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in structural design within oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, LNG, offshore, marine, or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel and reinforced concrete design and detailing.
• Proficiency with relevant design software such as AutoCAD, AVEVA E3D/PDMS, Tekla Structures, STAAD.Pro, SmartPlant 3D, or equivalent, depending on project requirements.
• Ability to interpret structural drawings, engineering specifications, design calculations, and project standards.
• Knowledge of applicable structural codes and standards.
• Experience with offshore structures, pipe racks, equipment supports, platforms, buildings, and industrial structures is advantageous.
• Strong multidisciplinary coordination and communication skills.
• Experience supporting FEED, detailed engineering, EPC, construction, and commissioning projects is an advantage.
