Senior Quantity Surveyor – Oil & Gas at Terra Energy Services Nigeria Limited

Job Summary:

• Terra Energy Services Nigeria Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong commercial acumen and proven cost management expertise in the oil and gas sector. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years post-qualification experience and will be responsible for managing project cost estimates, contract administration, and commercial risk across capital projects.

Job Description:

• Prepare and review cost estimates and tender documentation for oil and gas projects
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cash flows
• Monitor and control project expenditures and variations
• Conduct contract evaluations, negotiations, and claims analysis
• Oversee procurement processes and contractor performance
• Prepare and evaluate Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and pricing schedules
• Ensure adherence to company and client commercial guidelines
• Support project planning and control through accurate cost data
• Liaise with engineering, procurement, and project teams to ensure budgetary compliance
• Provide commercial input for reporting, decision-making, and risk mitigation

Academic Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Construction Management, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 15 years post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in the oil and gas sector. Previous experience with EPC contracts and multi-discipline project environments is an advantage.

Professional Membership:

• Must be a registered member of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS). Additional certifications such as RICS or PMP are a plus.

Technical/Leadership Skills:

• Expertise in quantity surveying, cost estimation, and contract administration
• Proficient in using industry-standard tools (e.g., CostX, MS Excel, Primavera)
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and reporting skills
• Understanding of procurement processes and project financial controls
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
• Familiarity with oil & gas contract types (Lump Sum, Reimbursable, etc.)
