Job Summary
The Legal Officer will play a critical role in managing and mitigating the company’s legal risks while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This position involves supervising and liaising with external counsel to effectively handle litigation matters, ensuring that all cases are robustly defended to uphold the company’s interests. The Legal Officer will provide expert legal advice, participate in contract renegotiations, and mediate disputes to minimize exposure to unnecessary litigation. Additionally, the role requires handling corporate filings, statutory compliance, and conducting searches at the Corporate Affairs Commission for the company and its subsidiaries. The Legal Officer will also be responsible for drafting and maintaining minutes of key meetings and undertaking special tasks or responsibilities as assigned by management or the Head of Department (HOD). This position demands a proactive approach to legal challenges, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to represent the company in diverse forums with professionalism and precision.
