Senior Farm Manager (DVM) at Animal Care Services Consult

About the Role

• We are seeking a highly experienced Veterinary Doctor to serve as our Senior Farm Manager with primary responsibility for managing a large‑scale poultry operation (POL & Layers) and other supporting livestock units.
• This role demands a results‑driven professional with deep experience in poultry health, production management, biosecurity, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities
Veterinary & Poultry Health Management:

• Lead all veterinary interventions across broiler, layer, and breeder units.
• Diagnose diseases promptly and implement effective treatment protocols.
• Design and supervise vaccination programs specific to poultry health requirements.
• Maintain rigorous biosecurity standards to prevent disease outbreaks.
• Evaluate flock performance and advise on nutrition, medication, and welfare.

Poultry Farm Operations:

• Oversee daily poultry farm activities: brooding, feeding, lighting, litter management, culling, and general husbandry.
• Monitor flock health, growth rate, mortality, productivity, and production KPIs.
• Ensure optimal environmental control—ventilation, temperature, humidity, and hygiene.
• Implement high‑standard SOPs for farm efficiency and bird welfare.

Strategic & Administrative Management:

• Prepare and present detailed farm performance and health reports.
• Manage input planning: vaccines, drugs, feed, equipment, and stocking.
• Plan and coordinate flock placement, turn‑around cycles, and farm calendars.
• Ensure 100% compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Leadership & People Development:

• Supervise and mentor farm supervisors, attendants, and technical support staff.
• Conduct periodic training on poultry handling, hygiene, and biosecurity.
• Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)—Compulsory.
• Minimum of 4 – 5yrs years’ hands‑on poultry farm experience in broilers, layers, or breeders.
• Strong diagnostic and disease‑control competence in poultry health.
• Proven experience managing medium to large‑scale commercial poultry farms.
• Strong understanding of poultry nutrition, production cycles, and farm economics.
• Excellent people management, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including emergencies when needed.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with automated poultry equipment.
• Knowledge of farm data software and production analytics.
• Ability to design or revise farm SOPs for efficiency and safety.
