    Senior Accountant

    The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting strategic financial decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead and mentor junior accounting staff.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Supervise journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing activities.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
    • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
    • Monitor and manage cash flow and banking activities.
    • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
    • Oversee tax preparation and liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and other regulatory bodies.
    • Provide support during internal and external audits.
    • Identify and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy.
    • Mentor and guide junior accountants and interns.

    Requirements and Skills:

    • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
    • Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
    • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
    • Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, or CPA (required or in advanced stages).
    • Minimum of 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience.
    • Prior experience in audit or financial reporting roles is a plus.
