Senior Accountant at Rhizome Consulting

Summary

• The position holder will be responsible for managing the firm's financial health, overseeing accounting operations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• He/she will conduct financial risk assessments, provide leadership to the finance team, and partner with business units to optimise costs and align financial strategy with business goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage the firm's financial health, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Oversee accounting operations, including month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP) and local regulatory requirements.
• Conduct financial risk assessments and recommend measures for mitigation.
• Provide leadership to the finance team, driving a culture of accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with business units to optimise operational costs and ensure alignment of the financial strategy with business goals.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

• Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

Knowledge, Skills, And Experience

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience
• A recognised accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, ACA, etc.) with significant experience in financial control and management.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in financial management systems and tools.
• Leadership experience with a proven ability to develop and mentor finance teams
