Security Driver at IITA - International Institute of Tropical Agriculture

Duties

• Convey security staff and armed escorts on VIP convoy movements.
• Drive vehicles within and outside the duty station. Convey guards to their duty posts.
• Record trip details in the vehicle logbook and carry out routine maintenance checks. Ensure that vehicle documents are up to date.
• Ensure vehicles are well maintained and clean.
• Liaise with the workshop staff to ensure prompt servicing of vehicles as at when due.
• Ensure the safety of the vehicle and passengers’ property.
• Perform any other job-related task as may be assigned by the Supervisors.

Qualifications

• O'level with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment with a valid driver’s license. Security and fire safety training certifications will be an added advantage.

Competencies:
The ideal candidate must:

• Have good communication skills (writing, reading, and speaking).
• Have good knowledge of Nigerian roads.
• Have the ability to drive any type of vehicle (car, bus, fire truck).
• Have the ability to work with little or no supervision.
