    Jewels Leading Lights Academy is a Christian school that started off in September 2013 and was birth from the Bible club where children gather every Saturday to learn about Jesus and how to shine as lights in their everyday lives.

     

    School Chaplain

    Position Summary

    • The School Chaplain plays a vital role in supporting the spiritual, emotional, and pastoral needs of students, staff, and the broader school community. 
    • The chaplain fosters a caring and inclusive environment while encouraging moral and spiritual development aligned with the school's values and ethos.

    Key Responsibilities
    Spiritual Guidance & Support:

    • Offer spiritual care, prayer, and counseling to students and staff, regardless of their faith background.
    • Organize and lead chapel services, assemblies, and religious observances.
    • Facilitate discussions and activities that promote character development and ethical thinking.

    Pastoral Care:

    • Provide emotional and pastoral support to individuals facing personal, social, or academic challenges.
    • Maintain confidentiality while following safeguarding and child protection policies.

    Community Engagement:

    • Foster a sense of community, inclusion, and respect among students and staff.
    • Liaise with families and the broader faith community when appropriate.
    • Participate in school events, retreats, and extracurricular programs.

    Educational Contribution:

    • Handle and supervise all spiritual formation classes across board
    • Support the delivery of religious education or values-based programs.
    • Contribute to the development of school culture and ethos through collaboration with leadership.

    Professional Conduct:

    • Be a visible and approachable presence on campus.
    • Demonstrate sensitivity to diverse beliefs and cultural backgrounds.
    • Uphold ethical and professional standards in all interactions.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • M.Sc/ M.BA in Religious Studies or its equivalent field
    • Relevant theological or pastoral qualifications.
    • Experience working with young people in an educational or faith-based setting.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    • Compassionate, nonjudgmental, and culturally aware.
