    Sales Manager (Cosmetics & Perfumes)

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to lead and grow our cosmetics and perfumes business across Lagos and surrounding regions.
    • The ideal candidate will be a local Nigerian national with a strong understanding of channel distribution and a successful track record in traditional and modern trade sales within the FMCG non-food sector.
    • You will be responsible for managing key accounts, expanding distribution networks, building strong customer relationships, and achieving sales targets, particularly in Trade Fair, Balogun Market, Alaba International Market, and other major commercial hubs.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets in Lagos and nearby markets.
    • Manage and grow distribution channels across traditional trade (open markets, wholesalers, retail outlets) and modern trade (supermarkets, specialty stores, pharmacy chains).
    • Build and maintain relationships with key clients in the cosmetics and perfumes segment.
    • Identify and acquire new customers, distributors, and retail partners in target markets.
    • Oversee and support field sales teams in route planning, territory management, and sales execution.
    • Ensure effective product placement, brand visibility, and promotional execution in key locations, including Trade Fair, Balogun Market, Idumota, Lekki, Ikeja, and Alaba.
    • Conduct regular market intelligence to monitor competitor activities, pricing, and consumer trends.
    • Prepare periodic sales reports and forecasts for management.
    • Drive trade marketing initiatives and promotional activities to boost sales.
    • Ensure compliance with credit policies and manage receivables.

    Key Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
    • 5 - 7 years proven experience in FMCG (non-food), with a strong background in sales and distribution of cosmetics or perfumes.
    • Solid experience managing both traditional and modern trade channels.
    • Strong knowledge of the Lagos retail landscape, especially major commercial centers like Trade Fair Complex, Alaba International, Balogun Market, and Surulere.
    • Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and managing large customer portfolios.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
    • Strong team leadership and people management abilities.
    • Must be currently based in Lagos and familiar with local market dynamics.
    • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); ERP systems are a plus.
    • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Lagos and surrounding regions.
